  • Is there any book or tutorial that shows us how to make a plugin or behavior for C2? like I want to make a Magnet behavior from line-sight behavior and few events from it to create it, and plus I want to make it two types: North Pole and South Pole to either repel or attract. I don't have a clue. BTW I have basic knowledge on Javascript.

  • Great Job on your game! I have seen it on Naked GamePlay Website and It really fun, It will be total success on google! Thumbs up!

  • Remember - Java is not Javascript, so Java would not be of much use to C2 or the community.

However, any language is a good learning activity and will show whether you have a natural propensity for programming languages, which is never a bad thing.

Yes I do know that java is not JavaScript but the thought is if someone wants to learn java or have concepts about them, he can use this files. Who knows when someone in the community want to be a java developer

  • Im from lebanon and there is no users from Lebanon expect me and nlon , unless Ashley knows if there is more. That's mean we are unique lol

  • Hey Guys!

Long time since I last posted

Well I'm lately learning Java from Java How To Program edition 9 by Deitel since my Math teacher learned computer engineering at college so we became friends. (BTW He is willing to give me a test to get Java Certification !)

So contribute more in this community, I made few apps from what I've learned and I will share it with you.

To download the files and know more about them Click Here

    Hope you will like it!

  • No one?

Naji, alextro, sqiddster - Do you play Super Smash Bros.? If you do, do you have played SSB Crusade?

Sorry Tetriser I don't play those kind of games, Im busy learning school & programming book so I don't have lots of time for the rest

  • I know that c2 (Scirra) is a non programmers community but as I have seen, there is some quite enough number of programmer in this forums and I would like Tom to add a forum for programmers with section for asking question and talking about it, discuss it. I would really get benefit from it. And by the way Kyatric are moderators allowed to add forums as they transfer forum topics? If so, can you make my forum request and thanks advance.

  • In the end it doesn't matter what language you use, the most important is the result. Learn and use the language you feel most comfortable with. Today you can make mobile games with many programming languages, like Java, C# or there are also frameworks with scripting language support, like Lua.

I know Java, C/C++, C#, JavaScript, Haxe, but like using C2 now because it's a great time saver.

HTML and CSS are not really programming languages, one is a markup language, the other stylesheet description

Then a web developer is not considered a programmer right??

  • > "But from the perspective of someone trying to learn enough programming to make a game"

    >

    > Yeah... I don't even know what to say to that. It is clear you have very little experience with software development or why it's such a highly paid in demand career. If you think writing an engine from the ground up is somehow trivial, you are sorely mistaken.

    >

But we were not talking about programming advanced software or creating engines. Just learning enough to make games is not as involved, especially with the visual approach of most game engines.

If we are talking about really advanced stuff that requires full-time study, then yeah, fair enough.

If he is going to learn enough about programming to do that, I would wager he would not have time to do any art at all anyway.

, yes you know what? I'm starting to like more programming than art and I want to advance in it. Im a creative person but I have more logical and mathematical abilities. I would like to learn how to build and program an engine from scratch only if I had a chance to learn from someone professional. So I I'm focusing on programming mainly 90% and art as 10% of my time ( maybe 5%).

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • What you mean "without C2"? Sure, you can make games from the ground up with pure JavaScript/HTML5, but this is like reinventing the wheel every time. If you really want to code more freely, try one of the many JS libraries, like Phaser, MelonJS, CreateJS, PandaJS or for 3d ThreeJS or BabylonJS...

Then No, I will stick for construct2 but since companies search for people with programming ability, I will learn them anyway.

By the way, which programming languages do you know?

I Know HTML, CSS, XOJO little PHP, and Javascript.

  • Thanks for sharing the website with us <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

Here's my favorite book about JavaScript, it introduces good code patterns and avoids some common beginner pitfalls.

    http://eloquentjavascript.net/

No, Thank you Herks for the website. I really liked how it tells us about old computer program. If I was born really early I would not spent my time punching holes in computer chips! <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing">

  • Yep, Construct 2 uses HTML5 to let your gaming dreams become reality!

This means the code is JavaScript and for the graphics it uses the HTML5 canvas element (2d context or WebGL).

Wow, That's great but I have a question on my mind, How can export the files without C2?

I start like programming, and maybe I'll make few plugins for C2!

  • Woaw I didn't realized at first but maybe construct2 is combination of Javascript and HTML! I have learned HTML and I haven't seen anyway way to make an app, so I started to take Javascipt courses and I saw the word Game and app. So I guessed that Construct2 is an engine that uses HTML Canvas a for layout and JavaScript into a visual codes for Developers.

The point is we all are particularity programmer!!

Am I right? Or it is not JavaScript that C2 uses for its visual coding?

  • I totally agree, shinkan. Oh wait, no I don't
