  • Uhm, set walls to solid behaviour or isn't that what you mean?

  • Hi ex32,

you mean something like in attached file?

Don't know if this is the best way, but it works

Of course you can live yourself out with explosions and all that stuff, but the basic coding is in the capx.

    Good luck!

  • Oh right. My rep is still too low...

    Can't send url's yet...

  • Yep, it does make sense, but I'll have to think about this one.

Maybe other forum members have the answer right away?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I'm only still a beginner but I would suggest to place all the characters in an animation frame, each with its own frame number.

Then you have C2 select a random frame every x seconds, on a button click, on start of layout or whatever.

    Like so:

  • Why don't you just try it?

  • Hi there,

what's the best way to import large chunks of text (and images)?

I'm working on a music theory app and I would like to show all kinds of big text objects and images which I copy from my own site.

I can hardly imagine one should use the regular text-object to show large pieces of text.

Maybe I could use arrays to accomplish this?

Or maybe even some kind of plugin?

    Hope my question is clear...

  • There's a tutorial on this item. I think it's called 'choosing a character in a game' or something similar.

Just take a look in the tutorial section.

    Good luck!

  • Wow akashlakhotia, hold your horses!

I wasn't trying to offend you, I was only trying to help.

Given your reps, I assumed you were a noob: I'm a noob as well!

If I was wrong: I'm sorry.

  • You could try the Windows snippet program.

I use it all the time to copy and paste to Evernote, Word or even to post events on this forum...

It isn't like real printing but I think it comes close to it...

  • Hi Hunter,

    I played around a bit <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" />

Check out the attached capx: I also learned some things by making it <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" />

You don't want to give the camera the sine behavior but all the other stuff: player, solid and ground.

Hope it helps you on your way...

One thing to remember though: I've only been using C2 for two months, so there might be much better solutions to what you're trying to achieve.

  • Straight from the manual...

  • Maybe you can't find anything on the specific terms 'web storage timer', but given your reps, I assume you're new to C2 so I think it would be wise to follow (some of) these tutorials.

No offense: I'm also a newb on C2 but I learned a lot watching these tuts.

Maybe in your case the next video would be applicable: Building Games in Construct 2 Part 6- Bonus Points (James Quick).

Instead of bonus points you can of course use bonus lives.

    Good luck!

  • Maybe try something like this:

    Settings sine:

  • Hahaha. I know, but there's still soooo much to learn...
