  • Nice work! I'm working an some educational focused games, myself... but for much younger kids (3-6). If I had something like this 16 years ago, things would be different today. It is funny though how equations have become more relevant than ever since jumping into Construct 2.

  • Seriously - never used F4.

  • phone789 - thank you for verifying!

jomo - wow I'm glad it was such a simple fix, and I didn't fry my game some how.... production has resumed at normal pacing. thank you so much. I'm assuming this has something to do with the new splash screen features?

  • nice! are you doing the graphics yourself?

  • seemed pretty fun! I was feeling like he should stop when he sets the dynamite , only because when he walks out of screen focus he could potentially run into an enemy. just a thought though!

  • Problem Description

Project was literally running fine up until this latest beta build. When previewing project from loading layout (with loading event sheet), project loads fine. When previewing project from any other layout (with respective event sheets) project doesn't run, and the following error messages are displayed:

Assertion failure: Failed to create layer initial instance

    (error one)

  • Here's the most popular one that I know of..

I don't know if that guy frequents the forums though. I went through the application process over a month ago and am waiting to hear back.

  • ArcadEd - was it the preload sounds option that you mentioned that fixed it? Or was it something else?

  • paulscottrobson interesting - actually, it just doesn't load. Here's a quick link to the build if anyone wants to try it on iOS:

  • thanks guys! so far I've tried the program that paulscottrobson suggested... works really well for batching, but for whatever reason it's still not working on iOS :\</p>

  • Hello Scirra Community,

I've been having some serious issues converting audio files since a couple of version ago. It hasn't affected my testing in Chrome, but it has affected Internet Explorer and more recently seems to be affecting any kind of iOS testing.

Here's a reference to my original issue (since closed... )

I've tried a few converters but they haven't worked out so well. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction for converting wavs into OGGs and ACCs.

    Thanks guys!

  • grigrizljac

Thanks so much for your answer! It was an audio issue.

    Ashley

Thanks, but grigrizljac pointed me in the right direction. It was an corrupt audio file, sometimes created by importing and converting audio formats within C2. I converted the audio files in a different program, replaced the audio files in my C2 project, and it loads perfectly in Safari now.

Sebastian Hey... can you guys let me know what you're using to convert audio files? I seem to be having the same issue.

  • I'm pumped not only that you all released this, but made it look really cool too.
