  • Looks like a great start, I can envision large fiery explosions adding alot to the current hectic feel of the screenies!

You state Contra as an influence, will this be a realistic take or will you be adding power-ups and other features to add variety to the gameplay?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I'm really digging the retro approach to the graphics but I have to say the secondary UI portion gets completely lost with the graphics. The power-ups(?) with the numbers underneath. Maybe adding a box to them... it's nice to have all that readability rather than a switchable item box but I personally feel it gets lost with the rest of the game's graphics. That's my only critique however.

Seeing the game in action itself in another thread you posted was very exciting, this looks really fun. The level-up and other light rpg mechanics interest me as well.

Would love to see the demo soon! Keep up the good work!

  • A new version will be uploaded to the app markets soon that will make the gameplay alot smoother on older devices. The difficulty will also be enhanced to actually become more of a challenge. Also a few bugfixes. No complaints with Construct2 itself at the moment.

It's funny to see how quickly other developers have cloned our idea or name with other simplistic color-based apps on both app stores. I think the idea has alot of promise and I'd love to hear some feedback on the game itself. The challenge level right now is rather tame...

  • Hi!

We'd like to share our first ever mobile title created using Construct2 with the community, RGBy! RGBy is a color sorting game where you must place different-colored gems into the correct location. As the score increases, so does the difficulty! The base game is complete but there are still many features as well as bells and whistles we'd like to add.

    App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rgby/id863514747?mt=8

Right now the iOS version is using Ejecta, while the Android version is using Crosswalk. Please report your experiences here as I feel these exporters have been very buggy. We were using CocoonJS but encountered problems building and compiling the app in XCode using OSX.

There is still an issue with the iOS version where you must enter your iTunes credentials when the app opens. I tried two different implementations using "authenticate" and "soft authenticate" with Ejecta but still got the same result. I feel that this is very harmful as users may think the app is forcing them to buy something but worry not! <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

The Android version will probably be 1.1 and have Leadbolt ads by the time you read this, but they don't seem to be working correctly so I don't know if they will be approved or not.

I think Construct 2 is an amazing game-creation tool, and the way the creators are constantly updating the product keeps me excited. I can only hope we can add ads and leaderboards/achievements to our games easily so we can monetize! I really believe anyone can create professional quality games and applications using C2 and a dose of their own creativity <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile">

  • Depends on what you call "good".

Banner ads via Pode's iframe and for example Leadbolt as provider work on Crosswalk APKs.. I was surprised to find that working (several people claim that it does not), but I'm looking at a running app serving ads this very moment.

The tutorial posted on here using Pode's iframe plugin has a live game example on Google Play, yes it serves ads within the frame, but if you tap/click on the ad itself a new window does not appear with the advertisement. Even if Leadbolt approves your app this can be a problem down the road.

Is the best bet to serve ads right now really only CocoonJS? This is such a great product but I need to monetize the games I create using this tool!
