  • Caqtus Check out the new release and read up on the newly added shadow effect.

  • Hi all game makers and general C2 lovers.

A week ago I decided to participate in Construct 2 game Jam on Newgrounds.

With Calling time and much to do. I decided to do, the ever so tedious, "cut and paste". Familiar with C2 you will probably recognize bits and peaces from the tutorial section. And to you whom I borrowed from I just want to say; - Thank you so much. Thinking of how much good martial there is here, moves me.

A really nice idea I got was that I could do the whole menu with Spriter. Now I didn't have the time to make anything awesome. However I guarantee you I will make the same decision next time I make a game In Construct 2.

Here's a complete project. You can read about the game on NG.

  • Thank you 100 times blackhornet for your quick reply!

  • Hey you, Forum Foxes!

I saw someone had made an Audio Master Rack. One of those with bars moving up and down to the music dB levels.

I'm absolutely positive I've seen it either in the forums or amongst the tutorials.

But I'm just the worst and I don't even know what it's called or what I'm searching for.

Have any one seen this, knows what it's called or what I'm talking about?!

  • Even better!

    [Behavior]

    # 1.a Extract Sprite to base64 string -

  • Have a look at muschalskis reply in this thread

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Append whatever the user writes in a text box after this "https://www.google.com/#q=" in a text object. Then use the Browser plugin to

go to that url perhaps with a button. Add a System Wait 0.1 sec before the Go to url action to prevent local-host problem.

  • Hi, You should consider using xml. I just (seconds ago) put together a pretty neat example.

  • Almost done!

Let's say you have weapons or armor instead of books and you want to view statistics in different text boxes. ramones / * (black magic) presented the last node in one text box. In the second you can show any node.

Thanks plenty for all your help!

Download and test the example at the top of this thread.

  • Just read this: w3schools.com/xpath/xpath_syntax.asp. Do not paste the link, I quote: "IE5 and later has Implemented That [0] Should be the first node, but According To the W3C standard it should have been [1]!"

So I guess you are right IE has not implemented XPath properly >.<

IE is now a dead end. I will add a "do not use IE" warning before I share the capx, still might be useful.

    Thanks!

  • I thought about that, but what if you have hundreds of books, swords and other stuff you want listed. That would not be an option. My example works fine in both Chrome and Firefox. I want it to be available to IE users and highly customizable so it earns it's place in the Capx Example section.

    ramones: I guess I have to bury IE in a pet cemetery <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi, I played around with the Xml example in c2 and was just about to share the work in the Capx Example section. When I discovered, for unknown reasons, list selection won't work in IE 11. We can't have this not to work. What might the problem be?!

In the Capx I tried the change "on selection changed" to "on clicked" and even "system -> Every tick". But that's not it.

    Capx

  • I were reading this and started thinking that is was due to some web server magic, not my inability =P

    !Capx updated!

    Live long and prosper, zenox98!

  • I made the changes. However it seems to be that ajax won't work in local view. So that's probably it. If anyone can confirm that's the case please do. I will leave the cpax for the time being, but will upload a working one when it's done. Thanks for the response!
