  • Ashley also selecting object to be invisible at start doesn't seam to work either. Do you still want pictures for Pasting?

  • Here's few more:

    • Ladder object ( don't know if it's poss in c2 currently ), and some sort of way to easily make top down platforms to make paths for players, instead of need to build "walls".
    • Properties column should have some tabs for Project and current layout preferences. Currently need to select "Projects" tab from right col, the scroll to the top to select main folder in order to display Project properties, and hen swipe mouse across the screen is cumbersome.
  • Closing, please follow the bug report guidelines. I have no idea what you are talking about here.

Can't provide anymore details then this: Editing values: It is simply pasting from clipboard into preferences column, doesn't remove the old value. For example I select/highlight ( when you swipe a mouse across the text while holding LMB ) variable entry value, and pres CTRL+V, and all it does it adds the clipboard element to already existing one instead of removing the old value an replacing with new one.

  • Problem Description

Pasting ( witch CTRL+V ) values in the left column doesn't remove original values

  • Hi, and welcome to our circus. We have plenty of monkeys and giraffes here. Hope you feel like at home.

  • Animmaniac jayderyu Nice.

My additional suggestions, also those I remembered throughout the years:

    • Disable Solid between selected objects only
    • Solid behavior to work with movements behaviors
    • Platform pathfinding
    • Possibility of saving Array state in game/preview and then being able to view that saved table trough visual editor
    • Array import form external file ( like csv, excel table )
    • Option to display Array in the layout and in the runtime
    • Proper Audio Browser, with insert sound that will automatically create audio tag
    • Menu creator that lets create in game menu's easiliy
    • Option to set keybinds and change resolution in game by default
    • Support for In's, Main's and Out's for animations
    • Pick n nearest/furthest objects ( fopr example "Pick 3 nearest" )
    • Curve editors to supplement math, or some sort of default math to help those who don't really know how to do it well ( like doing a cigar shape pattern etc)
    • Load layout from external file at runtime and in ide
    • Simplified controller plugin ( especially for the sticks, just use degrees and then number )
    • Looping layout
    • Streamlined parallax editing
    • Pick object by TAG
    • SVN support
  • DOne

  • I noticed there is a flood of suggestions recently and it's getting really difficult to stay on top of it. So if you guys would be happy to post your ideas here, sticking to a format and link to the discussion thread that would definitely help maintaining transparency for everyone.

    Format:

    • Software: C2,C3
    • List of suggestions and in couple of sentences why you think they'd benefit workflow in construct.
    • Link to the discussion thread ( if exists ).

And if this thread is something that you guys think would be valuable to the community and developers, I would request to pin it. If not, then this topic can be removed.

  • This is pretty epic. Would be great for a castlevania style or side-scrolling shooter game.

You have a lot of good music on here. Do you have it uploaded anywhere else? A lot of the tracks didn't want to preview for me for some reason (about half of all of your listed tracks here). You seem to have a pretty big range, have you experimented much more with chiptunes? (Dropzone 1 was great!)

    Hello!

    Thanks!

I have them in other places, but not all. I do have the same problem when listening from the main list too. Best thing to do right now is to go on the tracks page and click play and wait. Track are 4.9mb max in size, so it can take probably a moment to download. I will ask Tom to see if he can do something about it.

And yeah, I did experimented with chiptunes.

  • > You talk it down, but the thing about events is you can reference arbitrary variables, functions, other events, other actions and so on - in other words, custom logic. The system you've shown as I see it only supports a very, very small subset of the "anything goes" capability of events. Want a variable time for the timer? Want a trigger to enable/disable? It looks like you'd be straight back to events. So this is a lot of work for something which is only useful some of the time.

    >

As said this would be useful for setting things up - and as said it is totally a question of approach - for example, I would, for example, like to make a jungle scene with vines and all sorts of little bugs and animals and so on - everything nicely animated and alive and yet background when it comes to gameplay - with a system like this I set everything up it never enters the event system which stays clean and ready for the gameplay logic.

"Oh, but you can use groups and global variables, etc" you say - yes, you can - by annoyingly going through the event system - and then you have a hundred global variables on top that you cannot group or minimize and you cannot scroll up or down quickly because pg up/dn and any other keys do nothing. And every time you want to work on your gameplay the unnecessary global variables from your background stuff pop up in autocomplete. But sure, you can do it that way... well, HAVE to do it that way as is.

    > Anyway as far as feature requests go, this appears to be just another way of doing what's already possible via events. Generally I prefer to work on feature requests where it's not yet reasonably possible to achieve the request by any other means. That actually increases the scope of what you can do with Construct 2.

    >

Well, it's not even a feature request, more like thinking out loud what would be neat. And I think this would be.

I'm sorry, but you must be doing something wrong then. You can make events for background animations on separate event sheet, and use local variables set to satic, and only one global variable trough which you set types of backgrounds.

  • Nice! For some reason I'm reminded of some music in The Secret of Mana (which is a good thing!)

Thanks! Have more tracks that sound similar to secret of mana, like my track called Mana Mystery

  • I would rather have a pop up window with all object details nicely listed so all is in one place, and self extending textarea for variables.
