matriax's Forum Posts

  • The effects/shaders of C2 not works with the plugin. I tried some RGB channel separation, scanlines,etc... and nothing. I don't know if is possible, but will be great if you can make the plugin compatible with the C2 effects.

I saw there is an option on camera called "Post-Process" for Blur, Black&White and others. Maybe there is any chance to add in the list the C2 effects?.

Edit: The blur option the Camera Pot-Process, without X/Y displacement work like a Pixel-Scale to lowres games, so great!

  • matriax Yes, I've got to upload the v0.3 first with the examples you requested, and then I should make some Youtube tutorials

Great to ear that! I hope to finish my actual game this weekend and start to code full on this 3D plugin.

I talked about it on other forums and at least one friend bought it, and with more docs, examples and the stuff we can do and show to the community, sure will be lot of people interested to buy it .

I also will do some tutorials/videos/templates to me for learn and also to feed my patreon/twitter/youtube channel to show what this plugin can do and how to use it.

  • Try Construct 3

  • maybe add real time example demo ?

delgado Here you have some demos:

Scene made in 3DS max 2013, controls and settings assigned with Construct 2:

Control a skinned mesh animations with a single Construct 2 function:

A wolfenstein like game, features physics, collisions, lights and interactivity:

X3M I think you should put them in the Babylon3D store page to people can check what things they can do with the plugin.

  • X3M Ahh! Perfect , I thought there was an unique product, but if there is the direction obviously doing the scene in a 3D editor as requisite for the actual product is not a cons is how is based, because you will have the Editor Edition for people like me to do scenes in C2 editor.

Sorry I misunderstood that, I'm going to change the FIrst-Impresions post with this new info . (Post edited)

About tutorials/video-tuorials and templates with all this things i can help and i will try to do an Arkanoid Tutorial without a 3D editor and share for free, so you can focus on develop the program and go faster to v1.0 to start with the editor version

  • Oh! :O That looks awesome!!

So when you say "Babylon 3D Editor Edition" this means will be another plugin/product to purchase right?

So i guess the loader scene(the actual released) will be the cheap one for the people not need an editor because they have 3D skills in external editors. And the "Babylon 3D Editor Edition" will be more expensive because will have also the editor to do scenes in C2?

    Sorry is to be clear.

  • Oh wait! I miss this new messages XD.

So, Babylon will had finally a 2D sprite placement in the C2 canvas like Q3D ? or i'm missing something ?

  • [quote:65ote0u4]What do you prefer, making a 3D scene in a 3D environment , or imagining the scene in a 2D environment ?

    If i have to choose, I prefer do a 3D scene in a 2D enviorment .

I mean, set the sprites in the C2 layout with their properties and when the game runs, set a mesh in that position with the sprite properties,etc...

And using layers, we can create different levels to do 2nd,3rd floor and all that we want.

Sure, with this feature and others the purchase ratio will be higher, also because people will create stuff more fast that will show what this plugin can do, and they will purchase even if is only to play around, because they will can create a scene or fps or whatever in the C2 layout fast without any 3D editor skills and without go outside C2.

Even if you not allow by the plugin, i think we can do through events.

I mean, put a sprite in the C2 layout, and in events add something like this:

On each "Wall" sprite > Babylon.js create Mesh = Cube On X/Y/Z

If type: Flat = Set Texture Wall_flat.png

If type: Window = Set Texture Wall_Window.png

  • How this is a paid plugin i think better keep the bugs for email, and opinion, pre-buyers questions & updates here.

First impresions for BABYLON 3D - SCENE LOADER EDITION (0.2 version):

    Pros:

    -------------------------------

The plugins looks very profesional and all is very clear/organized with lots of options for events/conditions/expresions.

Set the camera control movement in one Event(Left/right/up/down) for a FPS, by default are arrow keys.

Overall feel of C2 workflow, i mean, the descriptions, each action,etc... easy to find/use/remember and learn, like an official C2 plugin.

    Cons:

    -------------------------------

The lack of tutorials/video-tutorials to learn how use the plugin properly.

(Edited: I added the requisite of a 3D editor to create scenes as a cons, but removed becasuse this is the "Scene Loader" edition, there will be a "Editor Edition" to create scenes in the C2 layout! :O )

    Conclusion:

    -------------------------------

Still i have to invest more hours/days but looks promissing. I can't wait to finish my actual game to start playing with this plugin and see the next updates .

    Suggestions

    -------------------------------

1.-Templates dedicated to every aspect of the scene(light, camera, meshes...) with real time sliders to know exactly how works, and not change&run, change&run... to know what and how works each property.

2.-Tutorials that how to set-up an entire scene with different lights, shadows, skycubes,etc....

3.-3D basic game tutorial/template made entirely in C2 without need of external 3D editors, a pong or arkanoid will be enough.

4.-Be capable of create scenes fully textured without any external editor.

Edit: Add the FPS demo you did to the plugin pls

  • Wow! looks great, and about the info and the demo you made at least this deserve a try so i bought it .

I'm going to test the plugin and see how works, i will post after my first impresions.

Ashley How will works the "Construct 3 editor plugin" ? Is the most interesting thing for me, but i not understand very well how will be.

This means will be an event editor like for the event sheets on you can create behaviours/plugins with their param properties,etc... to be used in our projects? Or that will be a specific editor to program plugins based on javascript or whatever (hard coding)?

  • I was looking some way to do 3D game o Pseudo3D, my idea is make some Doom/Wolfenstein3D.

Something like this made with Q3D:

    https://www.scirra.com/arcade/undergrou ... -hrju-2363

I tried various plugins/effects and none worked as expected, also i bought Q3D but seems very hard to use and understand and there are no much tutorials for beginners and i'm very lost, also seems the developers stopped the development <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad"> .

So, i found your plugin but there is no demos to see what the plugin can do on real games(Only a human mesh and a car one). Will be great if you upload to test online the 4 demos of the templates you have. Also a Youtube video series showing how the plugin works will be nice. I saw you have a tutorials series in your website but only works the first one, i guess you're working on it <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz">.

You said you're not good as a modeler, but for a Doom/Wolf3d template you only need cubes with textures. Here you can find all the necesary sprites of wall, enemies, effects, guns,etc... to build a demo/template:

    https://www.spriters-resource.com/pc_co ... enstein3d/ . And if you record/comment the process for a youtube tutorial video will be simply perfect <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy"> , but even a text-tutorial will be nice.

When you say "1 year of free support" what exactly this means?

  • Is there any tutorial or video-tutorial to create some FPS like the old Doom/Wolenstein?

Something like this made by scoterr

    https://www.scirra.com/arcade/undergrou ... -hrju-2363

    Any?

  • Thanks, I see, when are near/far not only the scale changes, also the imagepoint/positiont(X,Y) changes to avoid that problem. All the thing is more complicated than i thought in a first moment.

Also I discovered that in Construct Classic had some real 3D cube plugin that manage all this thing more easily, wonder if there is anyway to port to C2.

I will give a try to the cube-stars and if again get blocket will test the Q3D plugin to see how hard is.

  • I'm blocked now because i can't figure how do the near/far effect.

I put various sprites together for a long wall, and i tried the near/far effect with the zoom factor, width/height, sprite scale, etc... and always they overlaps when are near and separated when they are far. I don't know what variable i'm missing or events to get all the tiles near/far at the same distance between them.

    Any tip?

  • Ok, so A Doom game can be done, interesting!, i will work with that this weekend <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy"> .

About faces i guess i'm not explained well.

With 3D cube FX i can set 1 image to all the cube faces. With 25dplatformer, i can set 3 different images. 1 for Z faces, 1 for X-Faces and one for Y faces. Like shows in the CubeFace demo: http://gigatron3k.free.fr/html5/C2/3d8/ the 3 different faces are the Question mark, the yellow face and the brick.

To be more clear, if i want to do a 3D dice, i can't because only can set the numbers 1,2 & 3, and i will need to map all the faces for the six numbers/faces.

What i'm saying is get the variables to map the six faces of the cube with different images. Can you add it?
