  • Traditionally PSN has had a large barrier to entry (as in it costs several thousand dollars to publish a game). I would love to be able to publish to the play station if I could.

  • That is great news!

  • Im talking about a table in the layout that just visually organizes the game objects.

  • Focus on makin a great game first then think about how your gonna make money off it

This is a misnomer. Of course you have to have a good game but you have to integrate the monitzation into the design. Even good games that you sell have a different design the freemuim games.

  • They all do of course. But what I mean is visually have a table that you can collapse and expand. Each cell has a game object and it would make the editor feel a little more organized.

  • So I think once you start making games you get a lot of game objects on the screen. You have a lot of them and they are somewhat disorganized. What if you could group game objects like you do with groups on the event sheet.

What you could do is add a group array which you could open and close. In Each cell you could simply add a game object. You could also label these groups to what you see fit: particles, enemies etc.

Again not a huge priority but I think in the future this will be helpful especially once people's games get bigger.

  • Some people manage to buy games off of a personal website. I have no clue how they do it.

  • Thanks :). I missed that...

  • It might be easier if touch was the same as mouse click. I feel that this could save a lot of time when it comes to development. I think that every time I want to use the mouse to click I would want to touch if I was on a mobile device.

But if people want them separated then perhaps we could make a touch and mouse feature.

  • I've only got one thing to say... Please, please don't go overboard with monetization options.

    Why?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Actually, if you could make a game to deploy to the mac app store that would be stellar. But having the editor on a mac would be good for business. The reason is that mac users tend to pay more money for things.

  • It's not unheard of for a company to require additional funding while they are operating. Game Salad got 3 million from a VC a couple years after they started.

Businesses usually need money to "take it to the next level".

  • I'm flattered that you're willing to put more money in to this. But isn't it a bit cheeky to ask people who have already paid for commercial software to voluntarily donate for further development? Isn't that what their license they already bought paid for? I think this would offend a lot of people.

FYI we aim to be supporting a Windows, Mac and Linux desktop runtime with Awesomium, which we're already testing.

It wouldn't offend me. But I guess there are always those trolls who get offended over everything. Personally, C2 is such a bargain. Other engines charge 2 times as much for less features.

Im talking about the editor being able to run on mac. Im not sure if that is what you mean.

  • One thing that might help scirra is if they had an assistant to do the "dirty work" this way they could focus on the major parts to development.

One of the things that might be worth while is a Mac export. I know Scirra said in the past that they didn't want to do this but software for mac can be much more profitable. I know that if they did this it would give all of the other mac engines a run for their money.

  • So we all saw how awesome spriter was with kick starter what if Scirra did a kickstarter. I would personally add 100 dollars to fund.

The question is how effective would it be. We already get weekly updates which are awesome. So what would you guys want most?
