  • I think OddConfection had a couple good ones, but if you want more then I can try.

    Space Simian?

    Planet Primate?

    Orbital Orangutan?

    Celestial Chimp?

    Meteor Monkey?

  • I write stuff.

I am thoroughly educated in the English language and literature mechanics.

I can provide samples on request.

I will happily write for a small project unpaid.

I have a solid education of mathematics, geometry, geography, cryptography, graphic design, and acoustics.

I also write ideas, constructive criticism, and technical descriptions.

I may also double as an audio engineer, an image editor, a mediocre pixel artist, or a 3D modeller/animator.

  • Google says about 255.

That will be greatly limited by the number of instances each snake makes.

    1 snake with 50 parts x 10 =?

I don't think that snake length should affect number of peers, however, performance would be something to adjust for if the host computer lags at a certain point.

  • cedricvr have you tried asking him what he did?

  • "Durden"

    Fight Club inspiration?

  • BaNa₂?

Don't question the purpose of chemically combining Barium and Sodium.

  • I like it. It should have a name generator too!

    Good call!

I was trying to get everything onto a Trello board, and this is one thing I don't have, thanks!

Now I have to figure out how to pick a random name from a .txt...

  • I don't see why not.

If you do get around to making it, I'd happily play-test for you as I like blackjack.

  • I think this feature is better off with global looping, as creating a function to stop it at the end of a scenecould be done in roughly ten seconds.

  • Anything wrong with the entire root being shown?

  • So essentially I cant make it where the enemies view is the only way i can be found and i was thinking of making it where i could backstab the enemy sneakily and that would be the only to kill them

You could have an AND event added to visibility that checks player position relative to AI position, rotation would affect where the player is "unseen".

  • Okay, if its not 'that' what should the camera-movement that you have in mind look like ?

I believe OP was referring to the mouse always being centred on the screen, moving it would cause the screen to move; although I find it difficult to find an application for this in a 2D game.

  • I see, I was under the assumption that the player was carrying the lantern.

So, is the lantern(s) stationary relative to the obstacles?

If so, then you can still use the advice I gave you, but instead of having it update every tick, it would only be run once; that is unless you have moving objects or the player be lit up by the lantern(s).

  • You could have the value (brightness) of obstacles be at zero when outside of the lantern's range, then the value will be increased to normal level as it moves closer within range.

The background would also have to be black (or whatever colour you have the obstacles fade from) if you want the obstacles to be unseen to the player before they become lit by the lantern.

  • I'm creating a program that generates character traits for a text based RPG/simulation game.

It doesn't contain much content as I'm just figuring out how events and whatnot snap together, in fact, I've just figured out how to use else properly.

I know a fair bit about math and probability so I don't see much challenge so far outside of implementing equations and ideas properly.

The game will be set in a galaxy where multiple intelligent races are connected via interstellar trade and technology.

I will eventually have a generator for each race, which I want to have done by the end of next month, then I'll get started on generating other aspects of the game, and then I'll get started on the actual game.

As mentioned in the title, the name is subject to change. This is due to the fact that the game will evolve from character generator into a fully fledged and fleshed out space trading simulator, and it will go through several phases between now and the end product.
