  • In pixel art isometric though, instead of 0.53125, you would probably just use 0.5

in TRUE isometric images you would use 1, as isometric means all axis are equal, there's no "squashing" on any of them. Then again, most "isometric" art is not really isometric, as it does look a bit weird.

In my system I allow an angle, so this factor starts at 1 but it will be set to the cosine of a view angle (press Q and W), and objects get repositioned accordingly (so at 90? it's ISO, at 60? its 0.5). It seems to go weird below 45, but that probably depends on the source art.

Speaking of which, Deadeye, our stickmen shall do battle XD

    wooo Construct going ISO!

  • can I participate if I'm not in neither USA or Canada? or the UK? or Europe?

What if I'm not on the map?

    O_O

  • Or have a second sprite and turn one off and the other on?

that wouldn't load from the file

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I'd just like to inform you all that ...... I SOLVED IT!!!!!!

linky? the one you posted just before gives me HTTP 500

  • To corroborate what Deadeye so eloquently stated, you can try your code using fixed framerate and trying different numbers there. 15, 30, 50, 60, whatever. See if the game is consistent (yes, establishing a minimum value before the game breaks is fair enough).

    if it's not consisten't....

    it's wrong

    .

  • I see what you are getting at with this. Hopefully, there will be a more integrated/automated way though because this is far from straightforward and the changes in a large external library that would have to be made would go really deep.

Sadly this is a python issue. They have the same problem.

So far the solution is to run an unofficial script that reads the libraries, creates dependency data and bundles everything into an .exe, option that is not useful for Construct.

Maybe there's something else, but that's what I could find.

  • wow this'll come in handy

    nice find, thanks

  • things that are not added to the tracker will most likely not get fixed.

ADD ALL BUGS TO THE TRACKER!

    (please?)

Also yeah, I usually alt-f4 out of the game.... as I do from most other games. I liked the screen resizing, but why not just allow fullscreen or window edges?

As it is now, I'd call it foolscreen, as I can set it to match my monitor's resolution and it looks just like fullscreen, only it's not.

Anyway, guess some people like it that way :s

  • what's the link?

Given how complex this sorting is getting, the bug is probably in your own code... of course, unless you can isolate a strange picking behavior with families.

  • its really nice and also really gross. I managed to squeeze some blood out of it, which makes it more gross.

  • I get repeated error windows until I close the window =(

    The error is:

    [quote:3d9w9s8c]traceback (most recent call last):

    File "<string>", line 8, in <module>

IndexError: list index out of range

  • What? You can deal with the dogs other than waiting for them to fall asleep?

    you may corrode them :O

I agree, this gives me the same vibe as Spelunky as well, and that's a very good thing.

Oh and you can jump on bees O_O

That saved me once, out of powerups and no way to climb trough a narrow passage on the ceiling of a chamber. Jumping on bees saved me. I'm gonna try it with real bees tomorrow, see how it goes. Maybe it's a skill worth learning.

  • All I know is that standard windows controls will always act strangely when placed inside DX-drawn stuff, as they're not designed to mix.

  • have you tried to access the inventory with W?

    yes?

    no?

how was I supposed to know XD

anyway I did now, and I spawned in the room with the rising lava, on the bottom floor and no way to climb up again. Had a jump potion but fumbled and got burned. Ouch! :s
