  • I know this is a tad old but im getting a similar issue, I'm using the latest build but still getting problems with my buttons

    this is the code i am being pointed at for this runtime error.

  • I know this is old, but i've only recently came back and had to find all my own files by searching on the forums!

    Anyways this is cool and i have tons of sprites and graphics , but little know how to the limits of construct. My original project allows for idle / walk and run animations on a simple character control script.

    With this i have created grass objects which calls a test window (Something like this project would be my aim for that screen)!!

  • Bump , im just looking for a way to get the correct animations to play on monster , just like character... once i have this base i can edit the images on idle / walk / run ... mind , monsters wont be using run! , just walk when in distance of player.

  • You won't go far with ripped graphics.. As a graphics person, maybe you can consider working on your own graphics first!

    I already stated that i had purchased the rights on a dead version of the game (The new one launches soon globally). Theres actually a community of thousands that are already backing me on this project. Again, the images im using are not ripped, they're provided with a client to suit a delphi coded game (mmo).

  • I recently got my hands on thousands of sprites via a chinese website (the game originally is called Legend of mir). I purchased the client and exported all the BMP's to PNG's, allowing me to use nicely in construct 2.

    The only problem , im a graphic person , not a coder...although i have started on this game.

    If anyone is interested then they can drop me a PM and i'l give you extra contact details and explain exactly what im trying to achieve.

  • First thing, My enemy...atm all i've done is duped the player animations (as it will be using the same amount of images) and used a distance check to move , but i cant figure out how to play the animations for it ... i tried copying the similar method the player uses but i couldn't get it to work properly.

    The other thing , Can anyone point me in the right direction for attacking ? ATM im using left and right click to walk / run .. but i want to be able to "left" click attack aswell..This will be when mouse is over a monster though and within distance.

    The way i want my Monsters to work is to hit and play the animations for it , aswell as player .. each hit is timed by the animation (so when the arm is out full .. it hits).

    and the last thing , how would i go by adding weapons to my player .. i know i need to use ImagePoints (so setting that up will be a massive task) .. but how would i go by setting the weapon behind player when facing certain directions ? and also how can i ensure that it plays the right animations (idle, running and hitting for weapon).

    All i gotta add now is the getting hit images , hitting images and death images !!!

    i even have kicking a ball images and casting images for armours, but by the looks of things, i wont be doing much of that till alot later

    EDIT: By any chance is there a way i can snap direction to grid ? I don't want the player to be able to strife left and right when moving. if you get me ?

  • I've set all them correct now but its still not looping ?

    idle = 0 , 4

    walk = 0 , 6

    run = 0 , 6

    all on loop too

  • Cheers for that mate ... how comes the animations don't loop using this method ? i just set the frames and check all animations to be set on loop but they're not when testing?

  • Try redownloading the file , the plugin i had was Touch2 as i want to allow Mouse clicks and touch control , not sure how to allow for running on touch tho, i was thinking with the touch2 plugin i can check if two touch points are active for running..

  • I'm trying to assing different actions for left and right click , at the moment the left click simulates movement and returns to idle when stopped or hits something.

    I want my Right click to simulate running (left simulates walking). Using the same method i want the right click function to set animation to "sprint"

  • I recently invested in a set of chinese files (original based on a server + client with MySql databases). I've now decided to use the images from the client (BMP's in .WIL librarys) and put them to use for my new HTML5 game :)
