  • QuaziGNRLnose Amazing job, great work dude, you and your team !

Okay yep it seemed weird to me anyway, bad memory.

  • Well, I started with the full version of C2 three months ago and I'm already able to make a space Invaders level in less than two hours (by supposing I already have the corresponding graphics, otherwise as the worst designer ever, I'll take ages). A real veteran of Construct 2 could probably do that in less than 1 hour. I don't know any of Clickteam products, so I can't really help you in your comparison, but here's the power of Construct 2 anyway. You can have some great results, even with physic or advanced stuff like that, in less than one afternoon.

(You'll never make a real game in one afternoon of course, C2 is not pure sorcery !)

wizdigitech If you have bought C2, you'll have C3 for free (if I remember correctly what they said about that)

  • Well I know that it's possible (and easy) to make this with the Chipmunk Physic plugin (and some events of course). I don't know, however, how to do that with Box2D. I suppose it's possible too, but I don't have enough knowledge to confirm it. My answer seems probably useless right now, but you can keep it as a joker card. I mean, like "If, finally, it appears that it's not something realizable with Box2D, I should look for Chipmunk physic". But as I said, it's probably possible with Box2D anyway (with events too).

  • [quote:22dl75wt]so I used a pixel art character from an old game and I have set his animations but he just doesn't look right with the background.

I currently don't see any character anywhere

If you talk about rocks (?) they seem to perfectly fit with the background so...I suppose I didn't understand the thing.

  • [quote:2pa0emrl]So, just add the physic behaviour AND the platform behaviours to the players, and the solid AND physic behaviours to the platform

Not. Compatible. You will just end up with chaos and tears

  • saiyadjin has said everything. You can't start with something too advanced because without knowledge and experience you will just end up frustrated and tired without any solid results and you can't start with something too advanced because the lite version of Construct 2 doesn't allow you to make advanced stuff. Here's what I used to learn several basics of Construct 2 :

And I "explored" this forum. There are not only the things included in C2, there are the effects, the plugins and all the content made by the community itself that you can add in C2 to continue your projects. You should take some weeks to only learn, start with some little things, then buy the licence. You need to practice before trying to develop any personal and advanced project (like everything in life, when you think about it). As a programmer, you know it anyway <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink">

  • [quote:1pw9ob3r]If that's the case, add a physic behavious to both of the players and enable "Prevent rotation" in their properties

I didn't totally understood the situation too but I don't think your answer will help him : if this guys adds a physic behavior on the characters, they will pass through the ground and every other platform because Physic engine and Platform behavior are not compatible. So your solution will certainly just create some problems (I suppose).

Now, author, as said by Oxy, we need to have more precisions. So, you have two sprites with platform behaviors. This behavior allow them to move around and collides with all the sprites which have a solid behavior. So, why do you add a solid behavior to the playable sprites themself ? They don't need it to move and collide. If your character can't jump when another character is above him, it's because this famous character above has a solid behavior (so it's like a platform, so yup, you can't pass through it with your player).

  • [quote:3qdmn3fd]but the mobile is smoothed

What ? Do you have some screens ? The export shoud not change anything, there is probably a mistake somewhere, like the size/format of your levels or something.

  • You should do some tests with the particle effect of Construct 2 and a physic behavior, I don't know if we can combine these two. Otherwise, maybe just the particle effect or just the physic behavior. Basically, when something is death, it has to spawn numerous little red sprites around, which will fall to ground. I'll see tomorrow and make a CapX if I get something interesting.

You should maybe take a look at that : https://www.scirra.com/forum/blood-splatter_t78354

The examples aren't available anymore but they are still some informations there.

And make some researches too, once again, this forum is full of informations for everything.

  • You just have to make this picture brievely appears (like 1 second or less) with a monstruous sound.

You could make a layer especially made for Jumpscare. It's on this layer that you'll make the concerned picture visible. As you may understand, this Jumpscare layer has to be placed before the others layers (otherwise it will be a sort of "background" and your picture will spawn behind the decor, for example). Then there are plenty of options.

You could, for instance, place an invisible Sprite exactly where you want to trigger your jumpscare. When the player overlaps this invisible sprite, boum, the picture spawn with a horrible sound, and it's immediately destroyed after 1 second or less. Should be enough to do the trick.

  • Well...I can't even tell if your project is in real or false 3D. Construct 2 is a 2D Engine but, as far as I know, it can "simulate" or even really make 3D under certain circunstances...you should probably look at for that. Making this thing should be really easy with 3D by using a physic Engine. Should. I absolutely don't know anything about 3D and Construct 2. So everything there is just theory.

  • What do you mean by "easter egg" ? Usually, this word is used for a reference to another game or creation, reference placed somewhere in your own game. So, I don't really understand why it should make your project better and simpler.

You should take a loot at this : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_egg_%28media%29

  • Indeed, the first event should do the job. Thanks for this correction
