• Yeah I think this thing is already messing up with my brain ^^

It's kinda crazy how you get into it after staring for some time o_O

Actually I'm discovering new patterns each time, nothing I planned :p

Btw I updated the page to start windowed (with fancy/lame decoration)

I think it kinda maximizes the first impact with this ratio, and cpu-friendlier

For a really nice "trip" though, I recommend hitting the up and left arrows one or two times, then playing with the mouse wheel

There's a pretty sweet spot around 0.1s and 5degrees

Move the mouse/touch around, or not

Use arrow keys and 1/2/3 keys to change params

Also you get some extra zoom madness if you have a mouse wheel

PPPS: Just reduce the browser window if you need extra smoothness

• Hmm can do better than weather for more dynamic real time data

youtube.com/watch

Digg lab was amazing when it was online

• That's sick man

I wanna do this kind of stuff as well some time will actual real time APIs :]

• Hey guys!

Long time I haven't posted around here :]

Anyway, for a change today I'd like to share with you a non-game app, made with C2 for nodewebkit.

Moov interactive library

I've been using that for a while now and I find it quite handy.

So if you have a bunch of movies on your hard drive (which you've ripped from your own legal copy obviously), then you'll easily get lost in the filenames, to choose a nice movie to watch.

This movie library scans automatically your movie folder, then reads the filenames to get film details from an imdb API, and presents the results and movie poster in a neat and visual grid.

You can then get info and directly pick a poster to play a movie

This kind of app may exist already on the web, but I wanted a minimalist and (hopefully) stylish one, while having fun making it with C2. (I also made a simpler one in the past with flash!)

Manual

Just note this is a work in progress, and some stuff are still not really not straight forward ;)

Before starting, if you're a bad pirate person with files like My_Film_ripped_by_that_dude_in_99999p_HD, then you need to rename the files with the just the actual name of the film.

The API I use for the moment if a bit sensitive and will only work with exact case sensitive names...

If you're really lazy you can try something like Filebot to rename your stuff

Also, I haven't coded a directory selector yet, so the only way to make it work is to have your movies folder named "Films", and the "Moov" folder just next to that, like so (well for win at least):

/Moov

-/moov.exe

-/...

/Films

-/My Film

-/My Other Film

-/...

Another thing I may need to work on is a better support for all kind of screen resolutions, and to automatically adapt the layout to those

Now for the actual manual:

• use keyboard arrows or mouse wheel to scroll the page
• a click on a poster brings a film page
• go back to the grid with a click anywhere outside the pic
• click the poster on the film page to launch your usual movie player
• use TAB to enter edit mode and pick a custom movie poster
• ESC to close

You can use the touch as well to navigate, and it's quite fun

Another way to quit in "touch" is to lay down five fingers on screen

Please give it a try and let me know if you like the idea, find it useful or not.

I haven't really tried it on mac os and linux, so let me know how it goes!

linux32

linux64

osx

win32

• Thanks, I want to try this some day when I get the time!

• Okay good to know it sorta work =)

• yep...

• Didn't understand your 5+4 math thingie, but I remember having a similar issue

Maybe there's a bug somewhere with "keep current size" I dunno

Anyway, how about On image url loaded > set scale to 1, would that work for you? (it did for me)

• You can't.

But there's a request

• That's a cool concept

I had the idea of doing a similar thing in my construction sandbox here

I agree that it could be a great success with a angry-bird like finished quality

Some things you could do is to add some animations to your "Fuzzball" because he's not "alive" even if he claims he is :p

Also a limited number of part for each level could help the challenge

• I didn't see any "general" communities, but there are a few country-specific forums and websites around already
