  • LukeW It might be worth dropping an email to

We're constantly reviewing our education pricing, and it's always worth hearing directly from educators - especially as budgets vary wildly across just an individual country, let alone the budget variations globally. But bear in mind Construct 3 does allow things like access codes, plus if you're only using the software for a 10-week block, there are monthly options available.

Send us an email with your specific requirements and I'm sure we can at least give you some advice, even if it turns out C3 isn't right for you.

  • xxstyxx We did send an email to anyone signed up to receive news about Construct 3, posted a blog which would have triggered anyone signed up to receive emails from scirra.com, and it's been on our Facebook and Twitter for a while now!

If you want to make sure you receive updates for things like this, you might want to sign up for some of the Construct 3 bulletins - even if you don't want to use C3, we'll always send out emails about competitions to people subscribed to 'News'! You'll need to be signed up to construct.net and you can change your email preferences in your profile (under subscriptions.)

  • This blog post is quite old but nevertheless should explain a bit about what we're doing.

The process of shifting everything over to construct.net will take time, but we are making good progress. Nothing will really change on scirra.com as we don't want to break it, it's struggling with the sheer weight of usage as it is!

We want to do a lot of work on the arcade when it's moved, but as to our specific plans for it, there's nothing to really talk about yet!

  • In the main menu, under view, you should have the option to toggle which panels are visible. Check that the layers panel is still checked as visible.

Depending on how you've got your window laid out, it could be in the same place as the tilemap bar, just as a separate tab.

  • Welcome back!

1 - Construct 3 is browser-based, but it does have a bunch of features that C2 doesn't (and won't get.) You can find out more on construct.net and take a peek at the free version.

2 - If you're having trouble logging in, drop an email to and someone should be able to help you.

3 - Yes, Construct 2 projects can be imported into Construct 3, but it will be dependent on whether any third party plugins you're using have been ported. It's a little different if you just want to use C3's build service to export your C2 games though as explained here.

    Hope this helps!

If you’ve read our recent blog post, you’ll know that we’ve teamed up with GameeApp to bring you a new, month-long game dev contest!

Using GAMEE’s new plugins, you’ll need to come up with a game built in Construct 2 or 3 that meets the following rules:

    • Your game must be done using Construct 2 or Construct 3
    • It must implement the GAMEE framework and work without bugs in the GAMEE emulator
    • Your game must comply with the PEGI 3 rating
    • It must be produced in a portrait format (landscape isn’t yet supported)

There are a few other recommendations from GAMEE. Your game should:

    • Have a simple tutorial
    • Have sounds
    • Have an overall size less than 5mb - the smaller, the better!
    • Be endless
    • Be true to GAMEE’s style of games

You can download the Construct 2 plugin here.

And the Construct 3 plugin here.

The plugins have an identical implementation, and you can find

Plus, GAMEE have plenty of other resources available on the contest page.

Be sure to check out their wiki. It's full of useful information for you.

To submit your game, export it to HTML5 (web) and then send the resulting ZIP file with a link to show the game working in the GAMEE emulator to .

So what’s in it for you? Well, we have prizes for 1st place through 6th:

1st Place: An Xbox One, a year’s Construct 3 subscription and a month’s promotion from GAMEE on their platform, including push notifications, appearing under featured games, being mentioned in the newsletter, social promotion and featured by bots on various platforms including Telegram.

2nd Place: A Nintendo Switch, a year’s Construct 3 subscription and two weeks worth of promotion from GAMEE on their platform as mentioned above.

3rd Place: An RC Star Wars Droid, a year’s Construct 3 subscription and one week worth of promotion from GAMEE on their platform as mentioned above.

4th to 6th Place: A year’s subscription to Construct 3, your game published to GAMEE and distributed to various bot platforms.

The final deadline for submitting games is February 28th, and winners will be announced on the 11th of March.

We’d love to see some great entries from you guys; maybe yours will be the next big hit on GAMEE!

    Good luck!

  • IIRC, LootBndt was messing about with this in December - there were a few GIFs on their Twitter. (Quite far down though, prepare for a lot of scrolling!)

    Could be worth pinging them?

  • Haha it's okay, I only posted it today (been writing content like a mad lady!)

We're looking forward to seeing what people make over the weekend!

Feel free to post stuff in that thread if any of your students want to share

  • Hey gang, who’s getting involved with Global Game Jam this year? Have you thought about what engine you’re going to use? Of course you could use Construct 2 or Construct 3, but what’s that I hear you say? You don’t have a license for Construct 3?

    Well, fear not!

Because we’re opening up C3 for the duration of GGJ18 with a special Game Jam License!

That means you can use Construct 3 in its entirety for free from Friday 26th to Monday 29th of January!

    Awesome!

So yeah, even if you don’t want to join the jam, have a play in Construct 3 and see what you can come up with. Why not challenge yourself to come up with a game in the 48-hour jam time-limit?

Find out more about Global Game Jam.

Don’t forget to share with us what you’re working on in this thread or on social media!

  • Nice idea! I was (still am) a huge fan of the dance mat games.

Sadly this is too fast for my pitiful hand-eye co-ordination!

    Great work though

  • It should work, so I would suggest you email with all the relevant details - then someone might be able to help!
