  • Hey gang, who’s getting involved with Global Game Jam this year? Have you thought about what engine you’re going to use? Of course you could use Construct 2 or Construct 3, but what’s that I hear you say? You don’t have a license for Construct 3?

    Well, fear not!

Because we’re opening up C3 for the duration of GGJ18 with a special Game Jam License!

That means you can use Construct 3 in its entirety for free from Friday 26th to Monday 29th of January!

    Awesome!

So yeah, even if you don’t want to join the jam, have a play in Construct 3 and see what you can come up with. Why not challenge yourself to come up with a game in the 48-hour jam time-limit?

    Have fun!

  • Nice idea! I was (still am) a huge fan of the dance mat games.

Sadly this is too fast for my pitiful hand-eye co-ordination!

    Great work though

  • It should work, so I would suggest you email with all the relevant details - then someone might be able to help!

  • Have a look at your C3 settings, you may have accidentally enabled the new 'Simplified User Interface.'

    From the r67 release notes:

[quote:q2dr9d1a]First of all we have a new Simplified user interface mode. It hides advanced plugins, behaviors, properties, and event features, allowing you to focus on a clean and simple set of features. This is intended for education customers, especially with younger students. Simply open Settings and enable the new Use simplified user interface setting.

  • Firstly, yes you will need to buy a new license for Construct 3 as it's a completely separate program. However, if you already have a Construct 2 license, you are entitled to a discount. All offers for Construct 3 as well as how to get any available discounts can be found here.

Secondly, to put it simply, seats refer to how many people in an organisation require the use of the software. But if you're buying a personal license this won't apply to you.

  • Nothing wrong with that in my opinion! If you have the releases box ticked then you should definitely be on our mailing list for C3 release emails - we send these out for pretty much all releases (unless it's a small patch or two releases in very quick succession!)

  • Have a look at this tutorial.

It covers building your app in C3 and signing the resulting APK. Granted signing is rather complicated so I wouldn't necessarily call it straightforward!

  • Construct 2 is restricted to Windows only, so consider that before buying a machine.

I've dabbled in C3 on my iPad Pro and MacBook Air and I think it works nicely (more experienced users may have more to say on the matter mind you!) Also bear in mind that C3 is still in beta, and if you want to see what bugs are currently being worked on, you can check the tracker.

Both Construct 2 and 3 have free versions, so you can always try those out first! And if you're going and testing laptops/tablets in a shop, you can probably load up the Construct 3 editor on a demo machine if they're not too locked down.

  • teahousemoon If you've signed up to construct.net, then you can go into your profile and edit your subscriptions.

Here you can choose whether you want to receive news, release, promotional or tips emails!

We do send out an email with every C3 release, so if you sign up, you'll be told about them! If you have signed up and don't get them, make sure you check your spam - if they've wound up in there then we might need to have a look at them!

(Also, C3 is still in beta by the way.)

  • Have you looked at the manual to see if that's of any use to you? It better explains the options for Cordova and the Export Manager.

If you think there is an issue, then the best thing to do is file a bug following all the guidelines.

  • Just looked at the YT video - looks nice!

Cool to see something a bit different made in C2

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • We did have some C2 stickers which we put into our goodie boxes that we used to dish out for gamejams and such. I like the idea of having merchandise but we'd need to look at how we handled it - run inventory ourselves, go via 3rd party etc. Perhaps once we're sorted with C3 this is something we can look into a little more!

  • We are planning desktop builds in the future as well as being able to use C3 in browsers other than Chrome. However there is currently no ETA on desktop builds.

    Hi.

I own a C2 personal license and would like to subscribe to a C3 plan now.

I see that I have a 50% discount for the first year on a personal license. However is it possible to switch to a startup plan instead and still get any kind of discount?

Anonnymitet For any license/discount enquiries, it's probably best to email , sometimes requests like these can get lost in the forums!
