  • Thanks guys! It means alot to me to have your feedback.

  • Thanks guys, and sorry for the late response. I'm using this game to build something bigger, but I want to give it another go before jumping projects.

    I will take a look at the controls. Also, I noticed that if I press up arrow + left arrow it will simply not fire. Weird...

    Thanks for the feedback!

  • Really? You know, I am relieved to read that. Thanks for the feedback.

  • Hello guys, sorry if it is the wrong forum, but I have a little problem. I'm creating a simple space shooter. Everything happens inside a tiny arena, and I used the 8-direction behavior to move the starship.

    I noticed that when I press the up and left arrows, I simple cannot shoot anything while pressing the spacebar. Even funnier, if the spacebar is pressed, the ship will simple ignore the arrow uo and left combination.

    You can see the problem here: geekgear.com.br/games/tinyarena

    There are no other key conflicts...

    Thanks in advance!

  • Thanks for the feedback! I want to test with controls, but never tought about mouse. That could be fun!

  • Hey folks!

    Just wanted to share my first creation with you. But before I do that, I would like to say that it is simply and ugly. Well, if I had the knowledge to build something like that in the 80s, I should be rich right now... Nah...

    Ok, back on topic! It is a small arena with enemies spawning from the corners. You get points for surviving and killing mobs.

    Here: geekgear.com.br/games/tinyarena

    Arrow keys control movement, while the spacebar brings the destruction out!

    Things I would love to do:

    • Add HiScore table;
    • Add some art;
    • Add intro and "Game Over" screens;
    • Add some currency;
    • Add a weapon and item shop;
    • Let the user save the state so he can get back and play with the upgrades he bought;
    • Adapt it for smartphones and tablets
    • Publish in app stores
    • ???
    • Profit!

    Haha... I think I will have a good cup of NOPE. ;)

    On a serious note, I really would love to improve it.

  • Right on target! Thanks spongehammer, that solved my problem!

  • Hello guys, first time here and I kinda need your help!

    I'm working in one of those slideing games, such as the old Yet Sports where you had to hit a penguim and see he slowing down over time.

    For this Contruct 2 project, I'm moving the platforms (bullets) instead of the player, like in ine of those infinite runners.

    Problem is: everytime I create a new platform (bullet), it came with reseted speed and acceleration. What I want is to start, lets say, with a velocity of 1000 and decrease the acceletarion by 10, until it comes to a halt (unless it hits a bonus sprite that makes it go faster againg).

    I can do that fine of one platform, but the next ones start coming with reseted values. In the end, I get a set going on with the same velocity forever.

    Do I need to use a global variable to do this? This is my first game, and I'm trying to figure how it works.

    Here is the file: indiegamers.com.br/teste/teste.capx

    Thanks in advance!
