  • Can you provide examples of your work and the method you use ?

  • What about the size of the textures in the animation ?

Post your capx (with less plugins) so others can see if it is laggy too on their computer.

  • Be sure also to update your graphic card drivers and make sure your game is ran with WebGL option on in a webGL supporting browser (not IE).

  • Surprised that doesn't crash in Chrome.

Ashley: I've noticed that chrome is really "laxist" on the JS code execution whereas firebug is far stricter. I don't know if FF without firebug executes said code, but with the extension on it often "shoots" some bit of code that are not working as they should.

If you want to make sure some code is correct, run it by firebug and you'll be set.

  • Admins live in europe.

You uploaded your game during the night and it takes some time to get reviewed.

Also I think your game would have fit in puzzle game section, since the goal is not racing but more dexterity/reflexion (will I scratch the car or not).

  • Look in the how do I FAQ at the section "Audio".

    This is how audio works.

  • Revision with 8dir and using only the touch object with "Use mouse input" set to yes.

    Still does the job

  • Or render a few frames for a sprite animation.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Yann had made some example of splitscreen a while ago.

  • The thing that hints that this is a Construct 2 problem, is that every file in the program folder, and only those, were replaced by unreadable files. No other file on the HD was affected.

Dead/failing sectors on the hardrive could be the cause to files becoming corrupted.

Also what is the OS on your computer ?

Nevertheless the fact that it happened on two different PCs is strange. I'd be tempted to think, as you noted, that the files were copied after being corrupted.

Did you have to restart your computer like shomaster during some file access (in shomaster's case, I'd think the harddrive was being accessed since he tried to edit the textures of a sprite) ?

I've seen others complaining about corrupted files in the past, but I think it was a bug in a previous version that you've already fixed.

Indeed. The previous fils corruption were fixed quite a while ago, and I don't think they touched the whole files of the folder anyway, in your case it sounds like a different problem.

I am keeping all sorts of backups now:)

About shomaster's case, the fact that windows itself hanged is quite concerning, but I wouldn't necessary put the blame on C2 for it.

I don't know if it really makes a difference, but perhaps using the 64bits version of C2 in a 64bits win7 would make for more stability.

Are your various drivers up to date ? Are you experiencing freezes/need to restart with others programs ? with the windows explorer ?

  • Indeed, moving a layout from a project to another raises a check failure dialog.

Nevertheless clicking on ignore appeared to still copy the layout and allowing to continue working/saving.

  • Well if you just use the wait action by itself alone, indeed, it does nothing. The tutorial about the wait action mentions it.

Consider this capx, the sprite becomes effectively visible after the layout has been displayed for 5 seconds.

The action of the "On start of layout" event has effectively been delayed.

I'm wondering what exactly you're trying to achieve ?

Do you want to delay the apparition of a layout between a switch from a layout to another ?

If that's the case, I'd put the wait action right before the "go to layout" action in the previous layout, not on start of the new one.

  • What is the OS of the laptop, are the graphic card drivers up to date, is openGL supported/up to date ?

What did change between the moment C2 was working and the moment it started to freeze, what software did you install ?

  • Commented capx.

This solution proposes to consider the markers as cells of a grid, and navigate the cursor according to the position in the grid.

  • I assume that by "quick-assign" you mean setting the position of the origin by pressing a numeric pad key.

I tried to do it, the input is simply refused with a window sound playing (I still can click and assign the origin), but C2 does not crash on me in w7 pro 64 bits.

What is your OS ? Is there any window/message provided on crash ?

If so, please provide a copy or a screenshot of said message/dialog.
