  • Well, before reporting a bug make sure if there isn't an issue with the txt file, it's maybe its encoding that is wrong.

Maybe try to save the .txt to UTF or something like unicode to see if the issue does not come from there.

Ashley would you have an idea about this ?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Nowhere does it say that you must purchase a license in order to complete the platform tutorial

synbios128: It is not the case.

The only thing is that you don't have the graphical assets provided to you. But the logic of use of the software still applies and is complete.

Do a search on google or in the "tools/resources" part of this forums and you will easily find graphical assets you can use instead.

Also there are a lot of tutorials you can check.

You can also check those video tutorials I made with which graphical assets are provided too.

  • Picking in Construct2 is "Picking instances of an object type according to some conditions".

And system conditions like "compare two values" does no picking (it doesn't select specific instances, just apply the action to all the instances of the object type).

If you want to learn more about picking, check the how do I FAQ section "Picking/selecting instance(s)".

Anyway, not a C2 bug but a user mistake, moving this topic to closed bugs.

  • You're doing it wrong.

    Manual entry about jumpthru.

The jumpthru behavior is supposed to be applied on its own.

An object can't be solid & jumpthru, it makes no sense.

Be sure to check the packed examples/templates with C2 to see a correct way to use the behavior.

Also always provide a capx when reporting a bug.

Moved to closed as not a bug.

  • The issue I saw in reviews wasn't with power either but with input delay making games really not playable. Even the navigation in the basic interface had some "lag" which looks really unpleasant.

It was tested on one of the early adopters OUYA which apparently had issues. During the first seconds of the review, one of the buttons of one of the controllers even stood pushed down and required the player to "shake it up" to go back to normal.

I'm OK with the idea that it can be improved, aware that it's not to be compared with a xbox, psX or whatever other living room console and that in the long run it may become a viable "low cost" console.

There was just some bad "publicity" with the first units shipped that had factory issue (so the bad reviews were deserved in that case contrary to what Blunty seems to say) and I've read on Ouya's forums about people having some issues with ouya's support service when contacting them to have the controllers replaced and not hearing back from them .

It makes for a blurry information over the net about the current state of the console IMO.

Some people say it's not playable at all, and some other say it's fine and depends on the games.

The fact that C2/CocoonJS is getting support for it is a nice opportunity anyway (one more platform, yeah).

Now on the consumer side, I'm wondering what audience really bought the console so far (from what I had gathered during the kickstarter campain it was mostly developers) and if this audience has a good enough experience to be willing to buy the games produced.

I guess it's too early to say, but that will be part of the interesting informations/datas to look into.

  • jayderyu: It's a work in progress/still to come, but Ludei has been pretty active around Ouya lately (they mentioned on their twitter they participated to the ouyajam and the news about C2 support of Ouya is very fresh).

Also do you own a Ouya ?

I've seen some reviews of a model that was outrageously not playable with a delay between the input and the registering of the input making most games unplayable. Has this issue been fixed since Ouya's release ?

  • jayderyu : Post on Scirra's facebook page 11 hours ago :

ere's a little Friday surprise for you: Space Blaster running on an Ouya with controller support, via CocoonJS!

You should really either follow them on twitter and/or facebook.

  • Toggle disabled ?

    <img src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36472942/construct/forumhelp/ToggleDisabled.png" border="0" />

Edit: Actually maybe you mean lock events ?

If so, I think that's something that has more to see with your team workflow than an "option" in C2.

What would you expect exactly from such a feature ?

  • vladoss: you should not be using this behavior anymore since an official pathfinding behavior has been released.

My suggestion, don't use the behavior of this thread, use the official one and check the packed example that comes with Construct2 as well as the official manual entry.

  • Mini LD44 - http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/07/05/minild-44-announcement/ - July 22 - July 29.

Seven days to make a RTS. Related to Ludum Dare.

  • Have you tried login out whatever comes from a "AJAX: On error" event ?

  • Please refer to this answer from Ashley

And stop multiplying threads about already closed issues.

  • I can't reproduce it.

I have about the same specs as yours (except for a i5 CPU) and everything works as intended.

Are you sure your graphic card drivers are up to date, that you're using Firefox's latest version (22) and the webGL is enabled ?
