  • You likely need to put your "Create" action that spawns the platform in some sort of events that controls its flow.

You should look at the autorunner template (accessible when you are starting Construct) to see how they do it.

Or post your own capx so we can point out how to fix your current specific project.

  • Question is: how do you make the player draw in the first place ?

For the last time, you just misunderstand everything that is being posted.

Your last answer directed at me is such a misreading and misunderstanding of my intents and actual posts I understand why you are struggling so much.

Let's put that on the language barrier I guess.

So let me try to write it simply so you can understand.

I did not threaten you of ban. People never get banned on our forums for stating their opinion, good or bad.

All I did is try to open your eyes on how you are coming across in this topic through what you actually posted.

Our forum is a community of people. Not customers. Game makers.

And you did disrepect that community by the way. If it wasn't your intention, than be more careful about what you are posting.

You are still getting it wrong all along, whether you like it or not.

    No paranoid, ok ?

No I haven't deleted an answer of mine to you. Moreover, this is a forum. Any member can actually edit and delete their posts. But yeah, I must be abusing my "authority".

Again, and to the point I developed earlier about how you sound and look you are the one being paranoid, disillusioned and playing the victim.

You are not the first to act like this either, unfortunately not the last I guess.

You keep mentioning you are a "unhappy" customer, but all you have so far is your intent of buying a license.

So technically, you are not a customer. A technicality, of course, but this whole topic has been about you using those technicalities and the hit and miss on them.

I'm not assuming, I'm just stating things as I read and understand them. Again, experience. I've been using Construct 2 far longer than you have, haven't I ? Or perhaps that's being arrogant to simply recognize that FACT.

One more thing, I'm not paid to be a moderator, I've been doing it for about four years now I guess and I have had my fair share of trolls and idiots calling me out on various issues.

Misreading persons as well. Have I accused you of being somebody else ? No, not at all.

I have mentioned another person using the same kind of vocabulary and having the same kind of issues with our community. Yet another technicality. Yet again.

If it makes you feel better considering I'm the bad guy, go ahead I don't care.

If, when indeed you calm yourself and come to your senses, you may go back and read again this whole topic and perhaps understand clearly what has been said instead of focusing on whatever you want to focus on and thinking we are out to get you.

Any time someone has posted out being willing to help you, you've just evaded posting an actual question to an actual issue.

I guess you were too busy being bullied, flamed and lynched, right ?

Being banned away by nasty moderators who are just abusive.

    Right...

Edit: Also I forgot, yet another technicality, but everybody gets the point by now, those are a community forum, not customer service.

The community is users giving out of their free time and helping out on a willing basis.

If you are looking for customer service the mail address is

You see, it's just those little imprecisions about your speech that put altogether make you sound like you are just missing the point on a lot of things.

But comfort yourself, I'm nasty, wooooooh.

It's not the first time he has this arrogant behaviour towards me.

I'd be glad for you to point out in what other topic I'm having an "arrogant behaviour" towards you.

The actual last person to call me arrogant was on another account of a troll that was banned a few months ago and was hitting on the community as well because he was failing on producing anything with C2.

    Strange coincidence...

Guess people now are too offended of what I already said to continue the discussion in a constructive way, instead they blindly defend C2 with all they got and bullying the OP with their "high fives" to each other.

    Please, don't victimize yourself.

You've been the actual blind-blaming person this whole topic.

There are 8 pages now of constructive posts debating actual issues with Construct 2 and all you have been able to establish as far as you are concerned is :

    * You are inexperienced with C2. Most people in this topic are. And to experienced people it's obvious that you are missing the point of most of the posts of this topic.

Issue is, you are inexperienced and missing the point, so how make you understand you are missing the point ?

Especially since you are "disappointed" and that any critic towards your capabilities, experience or expectations feels like bullying to you it seems.

    * C2 is not behaving as you expected to (apparently to read your mind and make the game you are thinking about, on its own without you having to do anything else than look at it because that is somehow how it was marketed to you, or what you understood from the marketing.)

Have you picked C2 and followed the beginner's guide ? Have you had a playable game by the end of it ?

If yes, marketing was right and that's how C2 helps out making games. From there you build up your experience by tackling more and more complex projects.

You learn more and more. You manage more and more. Yes, it requires to put efforts and learning in though.

If you failed at getting a playable game, the forums and the community are here to help out if you can provide a clear question to a clear issue, and not just some vague finger pointing in a "I need to vent" post.

If you haven't taken the time or consideration to go through the first basic tutorial, don't blame the software, blame yourself. You have to learn to crawl before you walk, that will be the same in any engine, language, creative endeavour.

This has been pointed out several times through this topic, yet you still apparently blatantly ignore it.

The topic is full of people with various experience cheering on you to keep up, put some effort and assuring you that in the long run you may do the game you want with C2.

Yet, you whine, you blame and you outright insult them (as "blind defending" "fanboys").

Don't you see how you are making yourself sound and look through this whole topic ?

  • Well, you should honestly not wait for Construct 3 but start building your games and team right now with Construct 2.

You should also be more opened/inclusive as how your are making the team.

I mean, everyone should have a say in the team's name and goals. If people are to work with no pay, at least let them choose to involve themselves in the various projects.

Even though any teamwork does indeed need a leader to make final decisions and orientate the whole team, each member of the team is an important part.

In your announce it doesn't feel so and doesn't really sound like a fun to be honest.

  • The team will be put into action when construct 3 is out

    So why post now ?

There is no date for C3, for all we know, it is years away from being released.

  • Creation and destruction of instance happens effectively the next tick after the action to create/destroy it was encountered.

This topic may give further informations.

I know one thing - A controller. Now you'll say "but Construct 2 has support for a gamepad (console) and keyboard (PC) and mouse..."

Okay, but if Scirra is serious with its claims that this tool can bring your games to mobiles - where are the mobile controls such as a floating controller (or what you want to call it) on the mobile screen. That's just one more example

And yet again a bad example on your part.

The How do I FAQ contains a category "Touch" in which it displays how to implement your "floating controller".

You are just expecting for a "built-in" feature, when it is actually a part YOU have to design as it depends directly on your project and is actually not hard to implement in events at all.

Moreover, once you understand how to implement it, you can only go further and implement more complex mechanics.

  • At the end of the year we accept Christmas wishes. Although it is indeed a religious feast, it's also a tradition that even people not practicing the religion may follow.

Ramadan is also a religious feast/step, but all the topic was about was wishing a happy period of fasting and is, like Christmas, a celebration time.

I believe that Ramadan is "as big" as Christmas might be in terms of non-muslim people still knowing what feast it is and what it refers to.

I must also admit that I know about Ramadan but did not about "Eid Mubarak" (which after search is the ending feast of the fasting period).

Indeed, seeing the original post using the ortograph "Aid", I though it was about helping some politic prisoner or something of the like.

Also in the same order of idea, if Christmas is tolerated for Christians in our forums, there are not necessarily mentions of all the saints or all the feast around the whole year.

And those doesn't need to be celebrated on our game making forums anyway either.

Best would possibly have been to simply wish the "Eid Mubarak" in the "Happy Ramadan" topic, wouldn't it ?

That kind of have made a lot more sense then a simple "Nuff said" that was the content of your other topic, and just sounded like w/e.

    New releases

The features listed here are only the "highlighted" features for each release. Check each release page to see the complete changelog and comments for each version)

Be sure to keep updated to the

most recent release of Construct 2

If you think you have found a bug in Construct 2 you can report it in this forum BUT

    • Make sure it is not already a reported bug by searching through the "Bugs" forum
    • Make sure it is not a bug in your events, a difference between what you have coded and what you would expect
    • Make sure you're using the very latest version of Construct 2 (beta possibly, stable if this is the very latest release available)
    • Attach a .capx of the issue in the simplest manner possible (no 100+ events capx, no 10 mb capx)
    • Make sure to read Bug report requirements before posting and providing all the required informations (your configuration, the steps to use to reproduce the bug, any relevant information you can provide)

It is really important since about 50% of reports aren't bugs which takes time out of working on Construct2 directly.

Be responsible, help everybody by making sure it's not your events in cause first.

  • Multiplying topics is not the right way to get attention !

Especially when you are just duplicating the vague same description.

Use the search function of the forum and of the tutorials.

There are already plenty of examples of Match3 or matching type games around, learn from them.

Do your research first, and if you get stuck on a specific mechanic post your capx and explain precisely what you are trying to do, what you made to do it, what actually is happening.

Don't just expect to be spoon fed, this community is not here for that.

  • Please do not adjust official plugins or behaviors.

Sounds like you based your plugin off the official Textbox plugin.

Couldn't you instead add the properties and modifications your brought as a behavior to add to a textbox object ?

That, perhaps, could make more sense and prevent issues in the long run.

  • This possibly seems like a doublon plugin though.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but there was already a iFrame plugin in JesseJoh's HTML plugins that was later on taken by Pode's HTML pack.

Does your plugin add different things than those plugins ?
