  • I have no issues with Steam at all. The only problem I have with digital purchases is the ability to sell them when your done (games especially).

    But regardless I'm watching the Steam page. If it drops even more, I'm on it. Since they did RPG Maker during the sale, I'm hopeful that they will do Construct 2 too. (construct tutu???? :) ).

    If it doesn't, then I buy on the 22nd.

    My arsenal will be Monogame for larger projects where I really need more code control. And Construct 2 for cool action, more simple games (in terms of gameplay design, not saying Construct 2 cannot do complex at all!).

    GameMaker lost out. Primarily with their no-upgrade policy and no iOS out of the box.

  • — I'm shying away from Phonegap because I want to keep the 30% I'd have to give to the stores. In addition, it seems to me that I really can do this as a straight webapp with different layouts according to screen size, which would allow me to have the same code base for everything. Given C2's offline ability on iOS/Android I think everything is here to make it work as a WebApp.

    So your iOS/Android users wouldn't install the app, just launch it from the browser?

  • So at home I have my laptop hooked to two additional monitors. At work I only use one additional. Yesterday I had Construct open on the third monitor and when I disconnected this morning and relaunched at work, I could run the program just fine, however ALL the popup windows were trying to display on the not present third monitor.

    For some of the big ones like File Open, I was able to use the windows + arrow keys to move them back over, however the smaller, non modal windows like the color picker, etc would not work.

    I managed to hack the registry and rename the keys that held the window locations to get some back, but again the color picker never returned.

    Could this be added the for the next update, perhaps a command to recover all windows or reset all windows or just force them to check if the desired monitor is available and if not open them in the program window?

    I know what I'm doing. I will wait until the 22nd. If Scirra matches the 50%, I'll grab it. If Steam goes lower, I may grab it (daily deal thing) there... but again, I prefer to go to the source directly.

  • LOL... I'm running a 16GB laptop with three monitors, a VMWare machine with 8GB allocated, Steam and about 1,000,000 other processes daily. :)

  • I must be odd in that Steam is almost always running on my machine. Just is.

  • Any plans for Scirra to meet the deal on Steam? I'd gladly buy from Scirra directly, but at the same time, shelling out twice as much is not a thrill either.
