  • Thanks for the feedback.

Cut scenes sound like a good idea. I will put them on the schedule.

I have gotten very mixed feedback on the physics. Some people, such as you, hate it. Some people like it because it's a unique feature. I'm slowly moving away from pro-physics because of performance issues.

  • It?s not polished enough to show consumers yet, but I would love to hear critical feedback from my fellow game developers. This is my first game so I have no idea what I am doing and need your help. ?

Here is the game link. It?s a casual, arcade game starring a bear trying to rescue his little brother from evil trees. Best played with touch controls?tablet, phone, or touchscreen monitor.

    My future work is:

    1)     Add a survival mode.

    2)     Make it juicier. Polish the graphics, sound, and gameplay. A composer just signed on board so I?m really excited about that. And in a month a real artist will replace my programmer art.

The end goal is to release on Windows Phone and Windows in August. Hopefully by then, the game is good enough to charge $0.99 for it. Would love thoughts and advice on the future work and release goals too.

Oh and for some reason the sound doesn?t always work on IE (Plays perfectly on chrome, safari, and firefox). If someone has an idea then that?d be great.

    Thanks!

  • Cool. How did you implement the bounce for Par?

  • Hi BluePhaze, thank you for the response. I am running the game in the phone's web browser. And the sound does work sometimes so I don't think it's the .wav issue.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Hi Ashley, thanks for the response (And thanks for making Construct 2! :D ).

I actually had only m4a files and just added a batch of ogg duplicates in this update. The IE sounds work now on the desktop after rebooting my computer, exporting again and uploading. But sound is intermittent on my Windows Phone and Tablet. This goes for both sfx from the Sound folder and songs from the Music folder.

EDIT: the sound on the desktop stopped working again with no changes from my side. It's happening off and on. Maybe the problem is with my server's streaming--but then safari and firefox always work. Regardless, I will test hosting it elswhere.

  • I uploaded a new version of my game to here: berkeley.edu/~kelu/Games/Alpha05/CaliforniaLumberjack.html

And for some reason the sound stopped working in IE. It still works on Firefox and Safari. And works on IE locally when running directly from Construc 2.

The older version of the alpha had working sound but it stopped working today too. On both my Windows tabloid and desktop.

    Any ideas?

  • Just a guess: After setting the width and height, try copying over the speed of the object.

  • I doubt anyone would steal a hobby project. But there has to be a standard way to protect assets from HTML5 games.

  • lennaert Thanks I will look into htacess.

Joannesalfa It's not just about the sprite sheets. I don't want someone to lift my entire game. It's obviously super amazing and original. ;)

Or I just wanted to learn more about html5. :)

  • Hello,

I exported a Construct 2 game to HTML 5 and uploaded it to a personal server. I noticed all of the images are publicly accessible in http://<game web address>/images.

How can I setup the images where only the game can access them?

    Thanks,

    K

  • How many reps do we need to be able to post http links?

  • Hello,

How is the number of plays counter updated?

    1) Is it incremented after each visit?

    2) Unique vistors/once per IP address?

Also, does the counter update in real time? If not then how long is the delay?

    Thanks!

    K

    Please delete this game:

Can you try this? There is even a screenshot of the solution to your problem.

  • Interested in the solution too.
