  • bad movies... or movies you've seen a bunch of times..

it's cool to have something on in the background that you don't care about.. but is entertaining enough that you can tune into it when you are doing something tedious... it has to be the right thing though..

  • no music.. it takes to much focus..I have Netflix going on my iPad or iPhone and put a really bad movie on... or reruns of The Office.

  • you could probably modify what they are doing in this tutorial to suit your needs..

  • you can use the XML object..

if you have any tables you want loaded into your game I would highly recommend rexrainbow 's CSV plugin (reads comma delimited files and can modify them).. it works great.

  • CPU Speed are freezed in 0.77GHz

    do you mean CPU utilization?

are you looking in the debugger?

  • The concept is that by taking enuogh samples of results. They can produce preditictive results. Then they can create tools to exploit prediction.

results of what? the game or passwords?

Seems like an incredible amount of work to cheat on an indie game... I say fine, let them at it, they can only make the game more popular. And if they somehow break it, put out an update to fix it.

  • Should we be talking about securing a multiplayer game like with a cryptographically secure number random generator, as you might use for generating encryption keys?

Otherwise.. Random() works completely fine in game situations.. I've used and tested it profusely... how would it be used for cheating?

  • part12studios you can have many image points.. hit the "+" sign and it will add more. Also the X/Y coordinates of the imagepoint is shown in little boxes so you can really fine tune it if you want.

cool..are you going to use solfege? I always wanted to make some youtube videos teaching kids solfege (and ear training).. there are so many great videos out there now that teach letters, colors etc.. I swear my son learned all the letters, colors and shapes by 2.5yrs old because of youtube videos..

  • you can just create image points on the truck spawner then Set Position of truck to Object (image point 2 or whatever).

In my game I have a space ship, when I edit that sprite I made numerous image points. 1 for where the laser will start (just in front of the ship), 2 where the engine exhaust goes (behind the ship), 3 where damage text appears to show how much damage the ship has taken. This last image point it way outside the sprite box, it's a good 100 px away.. but its a good way to get a relative position.

If I am creating an object that is somehow related to another object. Then I always have the related object "Spawn" the new object.

  • andreyin that looks like it's going to Canvas2D not WebGL. I make Node-Webkit exports for my game as well and have no issues on Macs.. (so far)

  • don;t know of any.. but I could totally use C2 to make interactive web sites..

  • what i have is a base object that I want to face any direction. whatever direction this is facing creates.

can you rephrase this? I don't really understand what you are trying to do...

what is TruckA_Spawn? and what's wrong with setting the angle after you create Truck? all object instances are created at the angle of the original object... so if you want to change them you have to Set Angle.

if you want it to spawn at TruckAspawner's position use the action: TruckA_Spawn->Spawn Another Object instead of System->Create Object. This will also set the position & angle relative to the spawning object.

  • you need to forge a relationship not with people (the public), but game site editors.

sure I'll agree with that.. but game site editors could be more prone to reviewing your game if there is more interest publicly... or if somehow they see your game has "buzz" around it. I don't think this a tangible thing...

of course, I know nothing as I've never gone down that road personally... the only thing I do know, is that there are SOO many games out there, and the universal question is.. "what makes you different?", and the answer is you. You are different. So make people listen.

  • Well, if that's the case (external reviews & talking about it outside greenlight), I have no chance. Can't even get any gaming site to take a bite.

no way.. I just saw your demo video for your game.. it looks great! very GSB (Gratuitous Space Battles) but with actual game content!

I think you just need some PR... get the game reviewed, do a devlog or some other way people can hear/see you talk about the game and who you are as a developer. The game world is too saturated to just put out a good game (unless you already have some fame)... you need to put a face on it.. your face. Get some film students to do like a 5 minute doc on you and your game... and post that!
