  • Hello,

I wanted to know how can I make a background image that I have turned into a gray with grayscale effect turn into back into color (not the complete image but parts they have clicked) via a coloring brush as the user holds down the left mouse button.

    Thanks,

    John

  • How can I randomly pick a blank sprite and spawn another object? I have 8 or so placed on the layout and I want to system to only pick one sprite location and spawn another object.

I think I first have to pick a random number and have it associated with the blank sprite 1-8, and then have that sprite spawn another object?

    Thanks for the help,

  • How would I make an object become visible when the player become near the object? I thinking I have to use something based on pixel distance. Any ideas on how I can name this work?

  • Hi,

I am having a problem or user error with adding additional spawns on the flappy bird example template. I got it to work on one build, but now it is not working. The banana should spawn under the pipe and when the bee collides with it the banana should be destroyed. For some reason, the bee collides with the banana it destroys multiple bananas, and the spawns are not correctly.

You can download the Cabx example here and see how the code is set-up and the problem I am experiencing.

  • Hi,

I have the same issue. For temporary fix,I retargeted back to Windows 8 until there is a new plug-in that work with the new way Windows 8.1 handles with the fly outs.

  • Hi everyone,

I am working on a zombie invasion game where you have to defend your camp from zombie attacks. I set up a small wave system (5 waves) for testing. You can play the web version Play the game.

There are some issues with zombies clumping together or stacking on each other. I wanted to know is there is a way to have the zombies stop and form a circle around the camp vs just on top of each other? Another issue, when you kill them when they are stacked on each other is seem to throw off the round count of zombies therefore, it might not progress to the next wave and the game isn?t playable. Is there an easier way to do this may be like if 100 zombies killed per round progress to next round? Just look for other thoughts or advice on what might be easier or better.

You can look at my cabx here. The game not completed yet just want to get some of the core parts working correctly before adding/ making other game mechanics.Zombie Killer Cabx

Have any pointers or suggestion please let me know.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Ashely- you are welcome. I got another issue with the Windows 8 export Plug-in not sure if you update that as well but here is the error in opening flyouts like about in the charms setting from VS 2013

JavaScript Console is attached and accepting commands.

       HTML1300: Navigation occurred.

       File: index.html

       Creating AppCache with manifest: 'ms-appx://301f0609-26ab-477f-b567-209f481a7026/offline.appcache'.

The method Windows.UI.ViewManagement.ApplicationView.get_Value has been deprecated. Value may be altered or unavailable for releases after Windows 8.1. Instead, query for window layout sizes directly.

APPHOST9623: The app couldnt resolve ms-appx://microsoft.winjs.1.0/css/ui-dark.css because of this error: 80070057.

SettingsFlyout.width may be altered or unavailable in future versions. Instead, style the CSS width property on elements with the .win-settingsflyout class.

If I need to do a new bug report let me know.

  • Its not because of IE11, and not because of Windows 8.1GA or Construct 2. I can lay the game via the web, but not in Visual Studios.

It works on one computer and not on the other. Both computer have the same hardware abstraction layer (6.39600.1608) and Internet Explorer Build number. The only thing I can thing could be the problem is a bad Windows Update damaged a file or something. I know they pulled the update from RT devices because of some issue. I am still researching my issue.
