    Here are my settings:

    Parallels 9

    2 CPU's

    3gb ram

    All disks shared

Performance set to "faster virtual machine" -> tune windows for speed

    For my Mac I have:

    Intel i7 -2.9ghz

    8gb ram

    750gb HDD

I am runnings windows 8.1 in my VM

    Construct works flawlessly.

  • Yeah sure, no problem.

I am busy studying for test at the moment, but this weekend I will post a comprehensive list of settings I have. Note, when I install a fresh parallels 9, windows 8.1, and construct, it works off the bat for me.

I have Paralles 9 and Maverics. Up my RAM to 6.5 GB - but Construct Crash

I have Windows 8. If you have working Construct2 on Mac with Parallels 9 can you tell us your Software setings?

  • Your ram could be an issue.

I had HUGE performance issues when I upgraded to parallels 9 and mavericks. I had to up my VM ram to 4 gb (which you only have 4) in order to get mine running smoothly.

So yes, I did get Parallels 9 and Mavericks to work fine. Why you cannot, I am not sure.

That is good that VirtualBox is working for you.

I would reinstall Parallels if I were you and tweak the settings. Make sure Parallels Tools was installed.

Construct 2 is not playing well with macs running Parallels 9* on Maverics**. Construct will open to the main page, but if you attempt to load a project or create a new project it will crash. Other applications have been having similar problems with parallels running on Maverics. The parallels team has said that they are working on fixes to alleviate the compatability issues with Maverics.

Is anyone running other VM software on Maverics with success?

    *my version 9.0.24172

    **My version OSX 10.9.1

    13" MacBook 2008

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

    NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Has anyone gotten anything like TapJoy working in construct?

Basically you reward users for installing other games.

when i saw TTS I was like "WOOO Party time!" I have been waiting for this for a VERY long time.

Something you don't care for, others might ;)

Not having TTS actually has been holding me back on one of my projects for MONTHS. So really, TTS, omg, thank you.

  • This may sound stupid, but did you restart the computer?

It might help, find the cache files for the XDK and delete them. (usually in app data folder)

I originally installed XDK before it was "new" and got it running, and then uninstalled it. I then later installed XDK New, and it was able to install and run, and I also uninstalled it. With the newest one, I downloaded the installer and when I double click on it, nothing happens at all. Nothing opens or even tries to install, no screen comes up. This also happened when I tried to reinstall a previous version that worked for me, but again, nothing happens.

I've tried turning off firewall and any virus blockers, and running the installer in administrator mode, but that doesn't help either. Is there a setting that need changed or anything I am doing wrong?

  • from what I read, yes.

I tried spriter, it works...and that uses XML I believe

  • What is it doing?

On my late 2012 Macbook I wan Parallels 9, windows 8.1 and Construct with 0 issues.

There are *some* parallels settings that can be changed to affect performance.

    What errors are you getting?

Hello everyone. I'm desperately trying to get Construct 2 to work on my Mac (I've spent quite a lot of money so far trying) but to no avail. I've read around and I know it's the Graphics Card issue.

    So here is my setup:

    Mac 27" 3.4GHZ

    Parallels 9

    Windows 8.1

The problem seems to be as Parallels emulates the hardware there doesn't seem to be anyway of updating the Graphics Card. I've tried downloading the drivers manually but when you run the install it doesn't recognise the Graphics Card. I'd read in this thread previously people had had success with Construct 2 running in Parallels... can anyone help me?I'd be really appreciative as Construct 2 was one of the key reasons why I invested so much money in a new Mac and all this software...

  • This is incorrect.

I AM using the new XDK. It even says "New XDK" for the program name.

I also used it for crosswalk build, does the old XDK do that :S (I could not find information on it)

I see the new XDK does state it removes dependence on java and chrome. But for some reason, java still effective the new XDK on my machine.

If you are seeing messages about java, then you are using the old version of XDK. Please try the new one which replaced java with node-webkit:

    http://xdk-software.intel.com/

  • Do you have the monster as a example capx?

In your video you drag and drop it into construct and it works right away, I have to do a lot of tweaking :S

  • If anyone has the issue of the XDK hanging like I did, open command prompt and type java -version

if you get the error saying the command is not recognized, make sure java is installed. If it is not, then make sure your path and classpath are set in your environment variables.

That fixed it for me, XDK opens no problem now

My apps seem to run pretty good!

I am having issues with geolocation, although i see GPS light up on my android, the app comes back with a fail.

I also wonder, anyone know a good way to implement cross origin talk? So if I want to get data from my server, any good ways except using ajax and opening up cross origin?

  • Ive tried reinstalling. I am now trying some google suggestions. I have tried clearing cache, clearing the global settings.

I am now unistalling all my java and that didnt work.

Now to try to install the latest java again....will update later with results.

Meantime, if anyone has encountered this and has a solution that would rock.

    On windows 8

  • anyone have issues with intel xdk opening? mine says initializing and never goes further

  • both of those solutions worked great! the family option seemed to be quickest.

    thanks!

  • Hello,

Any suggestions on how to handle this...

I have input forms, such as input boxes and drop down menus.

If I put a layer above these and set the layer with the input form to invisible, and I click a spot that the form is at (but yet invisible) my next onclick action is ignored. Ie: I have to click something twice to make the onclick/touch action fire

The only thing I can think of is on making the layer invisible to make the form disabled, but I am seeing if there is another way before I change my whole project.

    Cheers.
