  • Ok ,thanks! I'll try this out ASAP.

  • JayJay, your example is nifty, but it'd be greater if it had the able to test the game.

  • I was actually using your spanky.cap file for a tutorials

But for some odd reason when I tried "Spanky(or any other name)Boot[Platform]VectorY", it didn't work because it said the VectorY wasn't a choice or variable or whatever :S - even though VectorY was check/there.

  • Well, after messing with the basic Platformer, it'd be nice to know about the animation of sprites and how to control them.

I'd use Midnight's example but Construct crashes on my when I try to open a sprite the second time.

And yea, I've been asking for a lot >_<

  • I have a question about David's Level Editor. I know how to Save/Load levels, but how do you exactly move around and view it? :S

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Thanks Ashley, that really helped me make a simple Platformer. <3

And deadeye, I'll love you so much if you finish those tutorials. !

  • My usage of quotes is overloading.

Anyways, I couldn't find a proper Platformer tutorial, and when I looked at some platformer .cap's, the Events were too complicated and didn't explain the Variables too well.

So all I'm asking is a simple Platformer tutorial/example that includes left and right movements, jump (double jump, but not needed), and paltforms. ;p

So I'd be glad if anyone helped me with this.

  • Lucky b*st*rd, I couldn't do this to save my life XD

    EDIT2: When I meant "I couldn't do this to save my life," I meant I couldn't make a game like this. :3

Anwyays, gonna try now. Will edit/post a "review" about it :3

    EDIT: Wow, that's effing trippy.

It's pretty original, a "Shift" type of game, but with a nicer and Arcade feel.

So with the insanely hard-to-reach bananas and using a brain and patience to get the switch and bananas, I'd give this a 7/10.

    The ladder climb takes forever

  • There is no such site because Construct doesn't really have that large a user base yet.

Check out samples and stuff in the Uploads section. And read Help threads. Then there's the Wiki. The search feature is also your friend... chances are if you're just starting out then someone has already asked the question that you want to ask.

And if you can't find what you need... ask for help in the Help section . Someone will help you out.

Ah, thanks, I'll go search for the stuff now!

EDIT: Hmm, didn't find much in the Help Section, and the Uploads Section does have the stuff, but it's too much for my brain :S

  • *sorry if this is in the wrong place. D:*

After spending 3 HOURS looking for some tutorials for Construct, I couldn't find anything except the Ghost Shooter. This did not please me, for the fact I don't have much source to help me learn.

I'm horrible at teaching myself things, like HTML. 1 Month and all I know is the basic <html> tags

So, is there for some reason a hidden site where they have Construct tutorials/guides, or does everyone have to teach themselves?
