  • I actually enjoyed it. I like the menus quite a lot too. I played till the middle of level 3 then I freaked out and accidentally clicked a bookmark on Chrome bookmark bar.

    :[ > apparently...i suck. Haha

  • 730 KB => 1.45 KB

    .PNG => .TMX

    TMX = Production File

    If there was some way to cut it down still.

    I know of this.. tiledmax.xpod.be

    Would probably be too much work to try and make into some sort of plugin.

    I guess I'll be best off waiting until Ashley has time to get around to some sort of map editor for Construct.

  • I found two interesting programs to help with CSV producing.

    dambots.com/dame-editor (Tried it out)

    tide.codeplex.com/releases (Have not tried it yet)

    Now I just need to figure out how to make it put down the tiles like in your example above xD.

  • My original idea was to use Tiled MapTiled Map Editor and export as a .PNG just to setup test scenes.

    Sounds fine (as a test)

    I realized I didn't have a plan to go further with map setup. I looked around and noticed things about "Arrays" and more about how Tiled Map Editor exports to XML buuut, Construct doesn't support that.

    So, arrays. I suppose I wouldn't neccessarily be asking this if I knew much about arrays so.. I don't (sorry). What I would like to do is have the system gather information in an array to lay the tiles down. Then when it comes to doors opening and things I'd like to be able to trigger updating the map once the array changes.

    Any help?

    P.S : Most tile plugins and things are about Construct Classic. I was never apart of Construct Classic so I have a feeling the community will be able to get me started way better than I alone will be able to.

    Example:

    scirra.com/forum/appli-map-array-editor-for-topdown-tiled-rpg_topic41695_page1.html

    Note: First post on the second page has an interesting read. <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Edit: Most people seem to talk about having a number or letter represent a tile. And I've also heard from another post that Ashley mentioned creating a sort of map editor but there's no ETA.

  • At first I was like... what is this. Then that gradually changed to me enjoying it. Getting stuck inside a platform stopped me but that seems to have been addressed already.

    I also noticed that if I fell off repeatedly it looked like the level entry text was stacking on-top as if it was creating multiple text instances (not sure).

    The GUI would also randomly disappear while I was turning things. Not sure if that's intentional or if I was dragging outside the playing field and causing issues.

    All and All. It's shaping up to become a fun game.

  • I've fallen in love with that character xD.

  • Tokenat looks like it'll do the job. Thanks, Yann.

  • I'm attempting to grab information out of a database in a single run and have the client display the information accordingly.

    For example: Cash, Level and Strength

    Cash: 1000

    Level: 10

    Strength: 20

    If I pulled those out at one time it would show up as 10001020.

    I can play around with it and do something such as 1000.10.20 - 1000&10&20 and so on but here's the question..

    How can I make the client somehow recognize that there's sections so that I can place 1000 , 10 , 20 in the right places?

    Edit: I attempted a couple searches for things but couldn't find anything. I remember playing around with "Delimiters" on another program but I had a plugin to do just that.

  • Unity3d = HTML5 3D

    Construct 2 = HTML5 2D

    And those will be the best in those fields for a long time.

  • Worked. Thanks. I can finally get a login system working.
