  • Currently working on simple drone behaviour. They are a nuisance but useful if you know hacking.

    In this shot there are three ways to pass, the difficulty of each is based on your character's skills and items.

  • Quick gif playing around with throwing weapons. Destroying and killing stuff is usually the easier option but will have affects on the game later on.

  • Still working on midgame backgrounds and stuff. I added a bit more colour to this one which should look pretty cool once it's animated.

  • Quick update: working on the graphics for the city stage. Seems to be more difficult to avoid bad clashes with background lights and constructing something believeable but working OK so far.

    Very nice concept. For the light effects, how are you handling it? By the way, awesome to see someone making game boy games =D

    Thanks For the light effect all art is black and white and the colours are on a separate layer above which multiples the colour values.

    BTW it's not GameBoy it's ZX Spectrum

  • Here's a work in progress of the first boss fight. Trying to get the contrast right with so few colours is difficult but a fun challenge. Next I'll add coloured lights in places for atmosphere.

  • Mainly non-visual progress this week adding player moves to test in the prototype. Most are now done so I can begin adding more enemies and testing fun stage layouts.

  • Don't you think the sky shouldn't scroll that fast? I'm just suggesting, ofcourse.

    This fast moving sky feels hypnotizing to me. I guess this is not where the attention point should be.

    Apart from that this is very beautiful, man!

    I'm really looking forward how it turns out.

    Anyway I was wondering do you already work with C3 or still using C2?

    On my side, I released my first game last week using C2 (1 year of dev – that's why) but now I plan to switch to C3 for next updates of Bikosaur, and new games.

    No, I checked out your Twitter and decided to follow

    C2 for now but I have tried C3. I'm keeping track of the changes in C3 but there's currently nothing I need. I'm still prototyping and creating the artwork so I can easily switch to C3 if needed, but I'll make a more final decision in the next couple of months.
