  • mars1985 Yeah, its around $5, but the cranberry plugins are more than worth it. I've not field tested chartboost so I can't talk about it financially (though enough people have done) but as for functionality it works fine.

    I should also note that I've only ever used their video ads so I can't comment on banner ads.

    The only one I can't recommend is admob, you really might as well not bother if the goal is profit. (Field tested with GATE)

  • gingpete Yeah, it sounds like a different issue. I'd probably advise sticking it in the how to forums for now as it sounds more like something your doing wrong. If you are able to attach a .capx that demonstrates the issue I'm sure you'll get your answer!

  • gingpete retracting my previous statement, it doesn't sound like the same bug, it might be something your doing incorrectly your side. Have you included .m4a versions of your music? I've never run into any file size limits myself.

    Also, music isn't perfect in that it will only begin playing on touch end. Consider it like queuing up the sounds with the construct 2 actions instead of it playing. There are a couple of work arounds such as playing the music silently on a loading layout first. Still experimenting on the best option, though it's also different for most games.

    is a stable release containing this audio fix planned any time soon? Thanks for all the help!

  • FMFM it appears your correct with the canvas bug. And I though we were out of the woods. It isn't the ad for me, and it didn't happen every time but when I double tap the home button to select a different app and return it sometimes bugs.

    I suppose this is the issue with the fix being part of other none tested fixes. There will hopefully be a stable realise with the audio bug fix soon!

  • Has anybody contacted apple or cordova yet?

    As you've all noticed this has been effecting most engines and frameworks that use cordova/html5. It does however look like all of them have implemented a fix engine/framework/export side.

    However, this does not seem to be the case as Ashley doesn't want to rebuild the audio context in the export to fix this for fears of breaking other platforms and features. At least not until it is undeniable that the problem will only be resolved on construct 2's side.

    Also Ashley, have you managed to successfully test the bug yet?

    If you're not able to replicate this bug on an iPhone running iOS 9.2+ then you might have found a fix. If so, can you please describe anything you're doing differently than the repo on page one?

    We've all put allot of time into our projects as you have the construct 2 framework. If this bug is not fixed, our time is wasted and if your engine doesn't work, then so is yours.

    If the 15+ people effected on this thread aren't enough to warrant effort and time on this I'm happy to contact everybody I can find that is targeting iOS with a construct 2 built game and warn them of the problem they will inevitably be facing.

  • I tested an iPad Air 2. Does anyone else have one to test and does it definitely not reproduce on that? iOS devices tend to be pretty consistent so deviations like this tend to be unusual.

    Ashley Not tested it personally but here's what one of my testers had to say: "Get the buzzing sound on iPhone 5 you mentioned and no music. 9.01. iPad air 2 is fine and noticed it's running 8.0.2"

    The iPad air 2 mentioned is only running iOS 8.0.2 which doesn't make it an ideal test. I've also tested it on an old iPad mini with iOS 9.2 and the bug isn't happening. It really does look like an iPhone only issue.

    Are you able to get hold of an iPhone to test this on?

  • Ashley Sorry if any of this came off as offensive. We're all getting a little frustrated. Totally understand that there's nothing you can do until you are able to replicate the bug. From what I've discovered the issue only effects iphones (from iphone 5-6s). As for iOS versions I believe it rarely happened from iOS 8 although since 9.2 the problem is allot more consistent.

    Hope this will help you replicate the bug. And if you have any questions you could ask that might help you replicate please let us know.

    I should also note that I've posted this bug on the HTML5 gamedev forums, tig source and stack overflow in hopes that it brings more light to the issue. It should at least answer if it's an issue constructs side or cordova/apples.

    el3um4s Thank you very much! I don't have an android release currently planned though I will be updating the browser version that works on android.

    nemezes The browser version hasn't had any updates for some time while I've been rebuilding it for iOS from the ground up. In the new iOS version I have tweaked the reload button and how it is introduced which should eliminate some confusion (hopefully)!

    As for controls, it actually has touch, mouse, gamepad and keyboard support (on browser). Simply use the chosen control method in the main menu to boot up the tutorial. It's not the best system just yet but it's on the list.

    Thanks! And as I mentioned previous, I'm going to be updating the browser version. It will have 90% of the iOS features. I'll mostly be removing the iOS specific things such as the shop, prizes (for watching an ad), achievements and sharing.

    Right now I'm being slowed down by this audio breaking bug the has been creeping up since iOS 8!

    Between hunting a fix for that I am building the shop and achievements.

  • mars1985 I'm using the cordova CLI which I'm pretty sure is the same as phonegap. Correct me if I'm wrong and I'll give phonegap a test. Fairly certain it won't make any difference though.

    I also tried those preferences in each combination (true/false) with no avail.

    FMFM mars1985 (and anybody else effected) I think it's time we started posting this to some other forums. This bug needs more noise.

  • mars1985 just a quick one as its late here but I believe mortar melons audio works fine though it has its own set of bugs if I remember correctly

  • Very true. If this can't be fixed on constuct 2's side then I would appreciate it if this was moved to the how to section so we can continue to make some noise. Although it would be nice if we could have some suggestions on where to go or what to try.

    I suppose this is the bain of making an engine for none programmers haha
