  • Added gems to be found in the game and another puzzle. I might showcase it later. Also worked on the other backgrounds.

  • Hello,

I am looking for 2-3 game designers for an upcoming 2D platformer game.

Since it will be quite a big project, I thought of doing this with others help.

The game will feature a boy who will grow up as the game goes on, level up by beating enemies, finding collectibles and will be able to ride a dragon.

You will have to work on construct 2 engine as well as do art/animations.

PM me for more details and let me know if you would like to become part of this.

Also please send me your latest art, so I can see your abilities.

I will showcase here a screenshot of first designs when available.

  • Coming along nicely!

I play a lot of escape games with puzzles and from what I have observed most people give up after 30 minutes if they can't make significant progress in the game.

So keep puzzles moderately hard but not hair pulling swear at the screen frustrating would be my suggestion.

Thank you, I expect to make some puzzles quite hard for newcomers. But I will add a walkthrough.

Also, I would make certain things easy to find, some moderate, others hard. So I should think about it.

  • Added interactions and organized layers. Now I can add more interaction to the game.

  • New puzzle.

  • Decided to make it with text and added my own character in the game.

Looks nice and clean so far.

  • Added fade effects when changing the scene and some other stuff.

  • A sneak peak into the game.

  • Graphics are decent but what really draws me into adventure games is story like those simple graphic games in the AGS site that managed to bring me to tears. Can't wait to see what story you come up with! : )

I thought about it and will include a screen with text where a boy talks.

Most probably will do it that way.

    ----

This will be the soundtrack for the game.

  • This will be the title screen.

  • I get burned out doing any game for too long so I jump back and forth from game to game and one game gives me ideas for another. It think that is typical gamer ADD lol!

    Looks good so far.

    Thanks.

  • Looking good! Will it be an escape game or other puzzle?

I have done a few escape games but my graphics were not so good lol!

Thank you! It will be a hidden object game, just to find the letter. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

And I truly didn't expect the graphics to be this good since I call myself more of a programmer.

    ---

Didn't work those past days on the game cuz I felt my energy drained somehow.

I modified the fourth background cuz I didn't like it much. Maybe I improve it even more.

I finished the fifth and am very happy with the end result.

Also, I would call the game 20% done.

I still have to do welcome screen, UI and some other stuff.

Then I will start with the development.

  • Hopefully you are making these using layers for the different objects. I say that because with most point and click games you'll want to be able to interact with the objects. For example, open the cabinets, turn the lights on and off, run the water etc...

Thank you for mentioning that! I am using illustrator so no need for layers, I just group stuff.

Hey , looks great , do you have an example of what sort of riddles you will be using?

    No, right now not exactly.

I will learn from other games and then try to create my own stuff.

I don't know if it would be wise to make it super difficult or easy enough.
