  • Hehe thanks guys for the awesome answers! There is just 1 thing here that is messin'm with me and that is when i try the letterbox scale, or the integer scale - and when i export it to my phone through ''cocoonjs''

I get the message 'Construct 2 letterbox scale fullscreen modes are not supported on this platform' - and my screen stays small without scaling to fit.. What is going on wrong here? >.<

  • Greetings to you all! ^_^

Hehe i just wanted to begin with saying that i have recieved alot of help here in this community, it is really awesome, and as i am learning i will try to help those who are new to this and are seeking help aswell, just like the help i have recieved ^_^

    Now to the question!

I am currently creating a 'game' for iphone/android and ipad/tablets.

Now the thing which has been confusing me for weeks is; what resolution can i create in for the game to work on all these devices? I have read the tutorial here and it says to aim for example, for aspect ratio, such as 16;9.

If i create it in 16:9, will it fit all these devices? Because i have seen games on iphone that look very good, but they are in 960x640, which isnt a true 16:9 ratio, since the true 16:9 ratio is 960x560. What is going on here? :/ I should target a 16:9 ratio yes? ANy good resolutions within that ratio that fit pixels well?

Yes i am drawing in pixels, but cant figure which ratio/resolution to go for. Anyone can help me understand this? Thanks in beforehand ^_^

    All the best.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hehe yeh i figured, i would have set my pc to darker or so, but its not just about the dark stuff, the 'light' stuff also gets.. even lighter when exported so, somewhere in between - hard.

  • Greetings there! ^_^

I thought i'd ask a question here as i am still new to construct 2.

When i do my own sprite sheets, insert them on construct 2, they look good. But when i export it to the phone for testing, it looks either far darker or lighter than the orginal (or the way i see it on pc..)

Is there any way for me to change this? Has it to do with exporting quality or? Or is it just how it looks (and shows differently on pc?) ?

Any small help is appreciated, thanks for this awesome community ^_^

  • Greetings there!! ;)

Hoho!Well i am trying to create a pinch-zoom on a project for phones, and i got the multi-touch plugin and so on.. and after working on it for 1 hour i realized that cocconjs doesn't support the multi touch plugin..

Oh well, now i have been searching the forums for this, i found great zooming tutorials, but none about the pinching one (how u zoom in/out when looking at pictures of an iphone) for example.

Now i have read that the new CR supports multi touch already, but i cant seem to make it happen. Anyone who can help me with this?

2 fingers at once on the screen, pinched = zoom out.

2 fingers at once on the screen, going the opposite directions = zoom in.

Can it be done on CR?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Yes exactly!!! Someone who understands! ^_^

Oh btw the link u sent isnt working >.<

  • THAT is great!! :D I only need it for previewing, thanks ALOT for answering me, i will try this now, hope it works ^_^

  • Greetings there!

I have bought the construct2, and i am enjoying it!

However I am new to this and need a bit of help! (trust me before writing here i have been searching for hours on google..) But here goes..

I am planning to create a game with construct2, and then release it for both iphone and android. What must i think of? Resolutions etc? What else?

And now to the more important question, i will need to buy a mac for this project, but untill i do, is there any way to preview my game in the meantime and how it looks on the phone? Anything like that on pc?

    Thanks in advance ;)

  • What program did you use to preview your game on the phone?

  • Yes exactly, but that is still not what i am talking about. Ayway thanks for trying to explain ;) gl hf

  • Hehe you still dont understand me. I know how/what it will look like under the retina display. I am just asking if i can keep the size of my drawing in the iphone aka disable the retina on 1 or 2 objects. Do u understand now? ;) haha

  • I wrote above that i am new to this.. What resaults will look like what? ''left one uses screen resolution and looks blurred'' .. what do u mean honestly? Screen resolution on the retina display? How can it not be screen resolution in that case? What/How is the difference.......?

I mean sigh.. i dont get any of this.. And yes this is related to C2, because i bought the product and i am trying to create a game for the iphone.. I just need to understand this resolution thing, i keep reading and asking but everyone gives me answers that makes 0 sense to me. Why does this look blurred? Coz of screen resolution.. O.o what is that? is it created by a different software or? I said i am new to this..

  • I am sorry mate, but i have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I do not understand you *at all* but i appreciate that you tried atleast :) I mean''use a smaller 16:9 resolution and scale it to full screen''

ehm.. what? Full screen what/where? makes no sense for me sorry, but ty for trying.

Understand that i am new to this, and i am trying to draw something in pixel size and keep it the same size once it is viewed in the iphone 5, NOT pixel size but same inch length. My real question is can you keep the size without drawing it bigger or can u save it in a bigger transparent background size to avoid it being smaller. (not in pixels..)

  • Allright, my drawing of characters are small enough, i don't want them to become even smaller, is there anyway to stop this from happening other than 'drawing them bigger' ? Perhaps save them in a bigger sized transparent background or so? - My point here is that i am worried that my characters will be too small.

  • You are not understand what i mean.

    A 2.)

If i draw something in 100x100 pixels. Let's say it is 3 CM. Once important under the retina display it will still be 100x100 pixels but WILL it become smaller, to the eyes compared to when i draw it on photoshop on PC? Since each pixel range on the iphone displays smaller pixels due to the retina display. If you draw a 1136x640 background, it will fit your ihpone 5 screen perfectly which is CLEARLY smaller in reality, but it fits fine due to retina display, it shrinks down. Now the 100x100 will it also shrink? That is the question.
