  • Hello

Im trying to use the example given in Construct 2 that allows webcam snapshots, I got it to work on my laptop webcam.. however I tried uploading the HTML5 version to my personal web server, it uploads and I can display it on my mobile phone, when I go to click "Get Webcam" it does not prompt me to allow the page to use my phones camera.

Is there something I am missing?

    Thanks

  • Anyone with knowledge in this area would be good help

  • ...and also could this work for uploading images and storing them into a database and retrieving them within Construct 2?

  • Thank you! However would this all be the same for grabbing text out of the database and users that you have added to your friend list?

  • You should make a tutorial for the game that doesn't involve wall of texts

    Text ruins the immersion

Tutorial is going to be last within the game itself. For now its kind of an alpha stage. But thank you for the suggestion!

  • Hello everyone!

I have a serious question, if this can be done, and how could this be done if it could...

Here is my problem, I want users to play my app and go to a page where they can register an account or login to an account.

After they have logged into or created their account, they are greeted by a main page (another layout) with their login name, and various other information. I understand that I will need a database and a bit of php coding in order for my app to store users information onto a database. I do see a tutorial on sending information to a database, however how would I be able to extract this data from the database? I am having trouble with the logic.

I would want this app to do the following:

    1. Store user login credentials

    2. Store users posting information (almost like how Facebooks wall works)

    3. Store users friends or followers

    4. Various other information.

    Thanks for the feedback!

  • No feedback? :\</p>

  • Actually, its not anchor. Just set the parallax to every status object to "0,0".

Simple as that. Good luck on your game!

  • Using Pokemon buildings is a bad choice from the start. But as someone said, you better learn. Unless you want to make a tribute to the old video games like IWBTG.

You may be right. What I thought of doing was using the Pokemon buildings as a template, making my own creations out of them and heavily modify them so they do not look like Pokemon buildings. It teaches me to learn the aspects of pixel art, and that's only one step of numerous I have to do. I still will have to make character sprites and others. But I think of it as a good start.

  • Game Freak doesn't care if you use it's sprites. Just look at I Wanna Be The Guy and the amount of sprites from Nintendo games! And they said, we don't care.

Or just modify their sprites so I do not get into trouble with copyright?

  • Thanks for the info. I will try that out and get back to everyone with my results.

  • There are almost an infinite way to make buildings for your game, but the secret really is that there is no secret. You just gotta dive in and start creating in whichever program your most comfortable in. <img src="smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I was using MS paint today, and I sure do need practice at making 2d sprite buildings.

All of the tutorials are all ISO style, well Pokemon is not ISO style... ehh <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
