  • Hi everyone!

I'm the lead developer of a new chilean videogames company called Octeto Studios (http://www.linkedin.com/company/2456753?trk=tyah // facebook.com/OctetoStudios)

Since 2011 we were following C2 progress making some prototypes, and now due to its maturity and the fact that you can publish native games to iOS (soon Android) with appMobi, we chose it for our first serious and commercial project.

For now, we all (the 5 Octeto Studios founders) have our full time jobs at day (I'm a Project Manager at a Development Software Company) so we don't have all the time we want to work on our company. In this scenario C2 makes things quicker and easier for us. So, thank you Scirra.

We are targeting mobile games and hope you hear about us in the following months :)

Here in my country, the videogames industry is growing faster and we want to be part of it.

Thank you all for share your knowledge of C2 in this lovely community.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I understand.

    Thank you Ashley :)

  • This thread was very useful! Loading a level from an xml file was a piece of cake.

All my level system will be stored as xml files :)

Every day learning how to do different things in Construct 2. Awesome work Scirra :)

  • 1? workaround:

    • Instance variable for the family called "name".
    • To all family sprites, set individually the value of this variable with the sprite name.
    • So, the instance var "name" is exposed with family.name.

... I can do this because my sprites are a finite number, but what if the wouldn't?... it has to exist a direct way to do this (?)

Well... my solution is enough for now.

  • I have a family with several sprites.

With a loop I'm saving to an array (when certain events ocurrs) every sprite (X,Y) coordinates. It works perfect, but I want to save in the same row the sprite name for debbuging.

I can't manage to find how to get the sprite name. How can I do that?

    Thank you all :)

  • I'm using boolean version of this plugin. It works perfectly!

Thank you very much, I have a big 2 dimension array and now is easiest to debug it :D

  • I told you because I disabled collision to a several physic objects that I have in my scenario and now they all go through other physic objects...

  • What about disabling collision to the dead enemies?

  • Waiting for the same feature too :)

  • Only if you don't make money, because free version is not for commercial purposes.

Take a look at this: scirra.com/store/construct-2

  • Awesome work! I hope Spriter is released on time to use it in mi WIP project :)

  • Twinsonian welcome to Construct 2!! We all are very impressed with the power of this game engine.

At this rate of grow I can't wait to see what C2 will be in about 6 months!

  • I want to know it too please :)

Are the save files stored in xml files? I'm just guessing.

  • I just tested a WIP project in my Galaxy S2 (Chrome browser) with the HTML5 export and it works at a decent FPS rate (between 20 and 30 average, and it has A LOT of physics).

Try Chrome on your Galaxy S3 :)
