  • I love C2. I loved it since the day I bought it. It is, hands down, the BEST game making tool I have ever laid my hands on. But I believe there is a whole lot of room for improvement. I understand that the devs are already busy working on Construct 3. Some of Construct 2's improvements can be solved (and can also be carried over to Construct 3) by answering these two simple questions:

    • Do we (Scirra developers) have enough people/staff to maintain and update the product?
    • Do we have a good business model to support the growth/expansion of the company and improvement of the product/s?

IMO, paying just once for a GREAT product like Construct 2 sounds like a missed opportunity. I would gladly pay a yearly subscription fee (at a reasonable price) if that meant the product would get the best support it needs, the best updates to its features, and the best product overall.

I also hope that the next iteration of Construct doesn't depend solely on wrappers. Wrappers almost ensure that exports to other platforms will always be at an 'almost native' performance, and will never be at a native performance level. Wrappers also add another layer of technicality, most of which aren't even in the hands of Scirra. These things are what's holding C2 back and it's so disappointing. Again, just my opinion.

So please devs, don't hold your own product/s back. I do hope Construct 3 is leagues beyond Construct 2.

  • Hi everyone!

My name is Anthony, and I've been a professional game designer and game producer for the past 9 years.

I've only started trying out making indie games on my own since mid last year. During my search for the perfect game making tool, and coming across different options like Stencyl, Game Maker, MMF, and Game Salad, I settled on Construct 2.

I'm now on my way to releasing my first C2-made game next month, with the help of a publisher, for both iOS and Android.

  • Made a build this morning using Ludei's Cordova cloud compiler and experienced the same problem. I was going to try IntelXDK but my search for a solution led me here. Oh well.

  • Just the share on Facebook or Twitter function. Thanks btw.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hello,

Nice plugin! Does it work on CocoonJS?

  • Hello,

How do I invoke the native iOS sharing pop-up, which includes Twitter and Facebook?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I used Authenticate action upon touching a button, but login doesn't show up. Any help please?

  • Congratulations guys!

  • Hello,

Anybody out there who knows how to fix this?

    Thanks!

  • Thank you david7457 for your prompt response!

  • There seems to be no topic about this in the forums.

How do I properly implement Game Center? I used the Authenticate user function on my game, and also Show Leaderboards function on one of the buttons, made a build using Phonegap and tested it on my phone. There seems to be no sign of Game Center and the leaderboards doesn't show up.

  • How do I add a rate game function that, when the button is touched, it opens up the game's app store page so the player can review it?

  • I'm sure this isn't the place to ask this but it seems like a good starting point considering how supportive the community is.

Is there a way to remove the Cordova logo from a Phonegap build? This is the splash screen that appears when you open the app.

  • Thanks for the quick reply Ashley!

The auto pause works when I go directly to the home screen. The game doesn't pause though when I double tap the home button to bring up the open apps screen. But no biggie, I can live with that.

  • I've successfully exported and tested my game on mobile (iOS).

However, I noticed a few problems (others I'll post in a different topic). How do I pause the game on mobile, if I go out of the game and into the home screen (or just double tap the home button twice to bring up the open apps list)?
