  • Ah! Ok. Got it. Thanks so much.

Unfortunately I can't export anymore it just crashes

  • I made a really simple 1 event project in C3 to test the export process. I exported an APK, downloaded it to my phone, tapped on it, when it asked if I wanted to install it, I said OK, and very quickly got this error: "App not installed"

Any idea what could be going wrong?

(allow external apks is enabled on my phone)

Want to hire: Someone to improve my 'Calculator' project

I love Construct2 but always end up abandoning these little projects I start when they get to the edge of my skill level. I need someone with C2 smarts to take my project to the next level.

I made a calculator of sorts and I got it mostly as I want it but I am not skilled enough in C2 to do things like...

    • Save the values I enter in the calculator to the browser so that they load next time ('save game' basically)
    • format the number output so that it includes commas (1,000 vs 1000)
    • I got stumped on making a text input that accepts decimal points (all the others inputs are whole numbers)
    • I want to add buttons to change the max/min values of my on-screen sliders
    • I'd like to be able to 'TAB' between the text inputs
    • Replacing my duplicated series of events with functions might be nice
    • My wish list is long!

I probably won't be able to afford to do all of that but I will come up with a list in order of priority and we can see what we can get done.

You can see my calculator as it is now here: http://bit.ly/2mPgaiU

I would like to hire someone who knows how to 'wrangle' math and functions in C2, is neat and methodical and has the skills to tweak my project and hand it back to me (with code comments where possible) in a state that I will still recognise it and be able to tweak it further myself (this is really important - I need someone who can create clean, smart event code that an intermediate user like me can decipher)

Ideally you are super organised, detail oriented and enjoy making things work just right with minimal number of events in a modular way.

Any questions feel free to leave a comment, if you are interested in being hired for this project please send me a PM with your rate and where I can see an example(s) of your work.

    Thanks in advance!

Update: This job has been filled and opportunity is no longer available.

  • I would like to copy something to the copy buffer in my Android app when the user clicks on a button. Is this possible?

I need them to be able to paste the copied text into another app.

  • You will need your own 2D images of buildings

Have you tried playing around with the sample capx? It's a great place to start. Paster just, well, pastes sprite images onto the screen.

    You can download it here:

  • Thanks very much for that report Colludium My use may be much less demanding but good to know both that it does work in Cocoonjs, and that it sometimes doesn't or at least didn't in your case in the end. If I do any successful testing on ios I'll put a note in here for anyone interested.

  • Fantastic plugin. I've had great success with it in Chrome on Win 7. Does anyone have any experience using it with Cocoon? I'm curious if it works on Android and ios

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Noncentz705 I Downloaded the new one. I've been testing it in Chrome (and tried it in Firefox) without any black screen issues, locally at least.

I'm going to do some more tests in the next week or so, including trying it in a Cooccoonjs compiled android apk. I'll report the results here for anyone interested.

  • railslave I'm sure it would be frowned upon by serious statisticians but it works for me. A little visual poetry from within the numbers.

  • What a fantastically useful capx Noncentz705 I would never have ever gotten there without it.

I managed to get it working pretty quickly giving me my local weather conditions correctly with the 'autoip' option but only when first run. When I click on the button to call the function again it returns "0" on the screen. I thought perhaps I was hitting the max limit of free calls per minute but it works fine if I restart the layout, so it's just something I'm not getting about how your capx works. I'll figure it out.

Thanks so much for the massive head start!

  • Downloaded. Good motivation for me to upgrade my C2 to the latest version to run it. On the list.

    Thanks for the capx!

  • Fantastic Noncentz705 ! I cant wait to give this a try and dissect it as soon as I have some time. Thanks so much for sharing that.

  • Thanks Binkus!

  • Yes, that's great, that's the kind of stuff I'm thinking of I mentioned weather as it's the first live data source that most people figure out how to connect to, so I supposed that if anyone has had any success with C2 and live data it would most likely be something like that.

  • yes, I would love to do stuff with real 'live' data. There is so much that can be done with the csv plugin, arrays etc but if anyone can point out any tutorials or posts on here that show how to use real live data feeds I'd very much appreciate it. (weather being the obvious)
