  • I'm going to reply here instead of making a new thread:

There is a function on construct 2 that reads double taps or double clicks and also there's functions that capture the moment the player releases the button. Just set the speed of the character according to this events.

I can't seem to get this right, when I press right arrow to move my character forward, it will automatically act on running speed.

    Here's my EventSheet:

My goal is to double tap and hold on the second tap to run. What am I doing wrong?

  • Thank you! so its called sub event. Excellent!

  • I've been following this guide online but I cannot seem to get the sub-conditions in the image, they always seem to get stuck together, or i would also get the -or- condition which is not what I want.

Here is what I'm suppose to have:

    Here is what I have.

    Thank you in advance!

  • Oh man, this thread saved my butt. Thank you delgado! (sorry for reviving this thread. I think it's very useful)

For those that cannot download it, the trick is to set a global variable for shooting on the left.

the global variable is set to 0. when character is facing left is set to 1.

Have a condition that states, when global variable is set to 0, projectile is shooting to the regular right. when global variable is set to 1, have projectile set to 180 degrees, and it shoots on left when character is facing left.

  • I'm pretty sure they can tell since a email is required to send the licence, they can check if it's a duplicate.

    Good luck guys! :)

  • I think you should be fine as long as you don't claim it as your own and/or charge money for it.

  • Hello,

My name is Richard, I'm a resident of the US, and I've been interested in the process of making games since the Sega Genesis days, I was amazed at what the console could do back then, I have taken C#, Java, Flash and Graphic Design classes and I may register for 3Ds Max classes at my community college this semester. I am not an expert on any of these fields as I am, for lack of a better term, a jack of all trades master of none, for the reason is that I attempt all these different fields and see what sticks to me, but I am simply too interested in all these fields and personally feel that I do not have enough time in this world because I want to make lots of videogames.

Back in middle school me and some friends made some labyrinth puzzles on pen and paper and that was pretty fun, with some teleportation gates and monsters and all kinds of stuff like that. Then, helped out collaborate with a few drawings on a forum RPG that surprisingly saw the light of day, and there was another RPG we worked on that one didn't took off, I guess we were burned out on the previous one. I've been inspired on the 3D side of things mainly because of REZ and want to make a game very similar like that in the future as there are not enough games in this world for that amazing vision of synesthesia. But, the problem with that is I have no idea on how to make 3D games, another idea is making 2D games like metroidvania type games, those are excellent, and Construct 2 seems like the perfect tool for it. I would be lying if Pixel's Cave Story was not an incredible inspiration. I'm sure a lot of us feel that way.

I look forward to meeting new people, and collaborate on a project together. Let's take care of each other.
