• Will some of those new background items behave similarly to drum cans in Final Fight etc, where you can throw or kick opponents at them, or are they purely visual?

Which unknown (to you) beat-em up game did Raphael show you? Is this a secret to the style of game mechanics you would like to add? Perhaps I know of it, so I just got a little curious

  • Dreamcader I have elementary students. There are several things that can trigger actions besides candy such as the lighting in the room, certain materials, lack of things to help stabilize their fidgeting, and even body sprays. The list goes on. Bottom line, they need structure. That is the best strategy. It helps with classroom management and push their potential a bit more.

Are you going to have the main character use of any of these tools to contain the kids? Would be interesting if you combine your own wisdom together with the game somehow, hehe.

Will you show us the artwork for Lita and Shugar Roy Leroy soon? Not sure if I spotted them on the homepage yet.

  • I teach and see the effects of candy first hand.

How old are your pupils or students? Does this only affect young kids? Check this amusing article out on BBC.com

I hope to make it a gradual level of difficulty.

2 player is one of my ultimate goals, but I'm trying to focus on what I can handle now

Yeah, can imagine all the hard work. Really hope your game with this particular theme will see the light. Girlfriend said she would play it 100%, mocking me that I would without doubt be one of the kids who would bonk classes if given the high end sweets

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

I used to spend a ton more earlier but now I would say nothing more than £60 every second month. Latest game I've bought is Recore on the Xbox One.

  • Story:

Mr. Candy Cane has been pushing high end sweets on the streets. This is causing all the kids to become extremely hyperactive, to the point the public is demanding Mayor Palinski to do something. With the Police Dept. using majority of their resources responding to calls trying to assist schools and homes containing the kids, it leaves Mayor Palinski no choice, but to call on drop out police cadet, Gil. Will his fists be sweet enough to sour Mr.Cand Cane?

I absolutely love the background story

The girlfriend LOVES candy, and the smile I see on her face when she just had a piece of quality cake is irreplaceable. However, she doesn't turn hyperactive, she only gives the expression that she is having the time of her life. Imagine if she were to get hold of Mr. Candy Cane's high end sweets?!

She would fall in love with the theme of this game straight away but she is no pro gamer. I would hope for a challenging game, but what level of skill is demanded to play your game? Would a Super Mario-only gamer be able to enjoy it without giving up too early? Perhaps, if the game would come with a two player co-op option, like with Double Dragon, me and the girlfriend could play it together. I know you promote that feature highly on your blog.

In my opinion, your blog is pretty good. Your "about" page and background story for your desire to create this game was an entertaining read.

If this game were to be complete and come out, I would most certainly be interested in making the purchase. Actually looking forward to telling my girlfriend about the them

  • Haha the XBox One is just a joke

Are you saying you reckon the Xbox One is a joke of a console? Joke

I added it as the lowest graphical settings

Hehe, this is pretty funny. Will the game be good or is getting us to vote for the game a part of a larger joke?

Having fun with the Ducktales game that was remade for the PS3 and 360. Surprised how good a game this is. My sister told me to play it in fact

  • Is this coming out for Xbox One as well or? It mentions Xbox One in the settings

Pretty entertaining stuff. How do you vote? Just clicking on YES if it were available on Steam?

  • I will upload examples for everything, but it won't be soon. I have a lot of work currently!

Alright, good luck man. How can we follow your progress?

  • Where's the fit red head hiding? Can't believe she's not in the demo.

  • Copy the behavior folder into "%CONSTRUCT2%\exporters\html5\behaviors\" and start Construct 2. The new behavior will appear as a normal one.

Ah, I see I thought I could test it through the browser, like with your first link. Unless I have Constuct 2, I can't try the new features, right?

  • I liked the fact that you could sort the list based on country of choice. Found quite a few YouTubers from Japan I did not know existed, so thanks for putting up this list

  • Have any of you started "late" with games developing or did you already have an interest from very little? I wonder if game developing is similar to sports. If you don't start from primary school and secondary school or even earlier, you're not going to be able to keep up with the rest.

  • For now I have added another very simple behavior and a feature to the platform behavior. You can check the repository

What do I click on to test the new features you've implemented? When I access the repository, I am having trouble understand which file to select in order to give the new features a go.

  • Backward compatibility means a new use of the material not stated in the first original contract. In this case Xbox 360.

Yeah, I was wondering about this. Would the developer and music creator/owner consider the backwards compatibility on the Xbox One as new use of the material, or would it be considered identical to before, just for the Xbox 360? The reason I ask is because, when you play a backwards compatible game, it looks as though the Xbox One is "emulating" the Xbox 360. To me, it looks as if you are logging onto Xbox 360 system, and people on your friend list "might" think that you are playing the game directly from the 360 rather than through the Xbox One. Because of this emulation, maybe the contracts and licences remain the same and do not have to be renewed or negotiated?

For a backward compatibility access you create a new contract for new licenses that permit the use of the content in this new platform if this was not stated in the original contract.

So if this is necessary, already high or higher than expected prices for new licences and permits may be considered too expensive for the developer? I imagine people complaining about games not being made backwards compatible, probably thinking it could be done by the press of a button. But then you have these possibly sky high licence costs that may not make it worth it. There is a chance and hope for that old games for the 360 may be bought by new users on the Xbox One, thus extending their online shelf life. However, perhaps most people already bought the game on the 360, meaning that the developer is then not gaining any money but rather have to spend extra on new licences and permits. For all I know, making a game backwards compatible may be done just cause its good customer service and not necessarily profitable, in fact the opposite.
