  • hey you out there,

    i whonder how to do the following:

    within a certain time, i.e. 30 seconds, i wanna create a certain number of sprites (lets say 20) spread on 9 points.

    Imagine: 3 columns & 3 rows, so there are 9 objects in the grid .

    1. the sprites are to be created randomly on these 9 points

    2. the sprites shouldnt appear in a foreseeable intervall, so i guess it must be something like:

         "create the second item after the first was created (and so on), within a time of (i.e.)2 seconds",

         but it should be a random time-value, otherwise it`s boring.

    3. it`s not allowed to create more than 1 object at the same time (this would be unfair towards the player).

    4. it`s not allowed to create more than 1 object at the same time at the same position.

    My idea was to store 9 x&y coordinates with the sprites within an array.

    But as i read it`s not possible to store sprites in an array,right?

    So, i guess i have to store the 9 x/y values and connect them/ make a bridge to the sprite-instances?!

    This is a crucial point for me right now.(just one of plenty <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> )

    I think (maybe to simple):

    • i create an array with 9 values
    • each array-value [from 0-8] has specific x & y values-

    -choose randomly array-value

    ...but hell...how do i do this ?

  • Yeah, this is really sweet...very nice illustrations. An alpine crocodile...hihihi...very good idea.

    But i see a bit potential to optimize the kind of presentation in the web.Don`t get me wrong, it works nicely and everything is easily understandable...which is really important for the (younger)users experience.But to me it`s a bit to clear, a bit to sterile.I think the weblayout could be more colourful,a bit more childish.For now it`s just a template, hundredthousand of other pages use too.

    Again, dont get me wrong: the illus and the game is just wonderful!!!!

  • i`m just thinking of another dummy-object, set false by boolean from the start on. And when the last number is killed, the dummy object`s variable is set to "initial sequence ended" = true and by this the main level-countdown starts.Dont know if it will work...gonna see tomorrow...i have to go to bed now --> simply too tired to simple thinking <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    i`m actually struggling with a kind of countdown-trigger.

    You`ll see, what i want to do:

    the Player enters the game with the Start-Menu, the "ready"typo/buttton waits to be hit.After being hit

    the numbers 3-2-1 appear , then it`s said "go" and the game really starts.Ok, the time-counter appears now,

    but i don`t get it to run correctly.Tried some options, sliding the commands here and there...but it doesnt wanna work....

    Another thing: how can i animate the 3-2-1 numbers so, that they appear, lets say with 6 px and grow within 1 second to 64px, ?
