  • colonel Justice,

    Thank you for your reply.

I think I'm missing something, how would that get the text on the 3D boxes that are around the screen?

The 3D boxes are around the outside of the layout. The text needs to be on the boxes to show the scores so the player sees the text on the box. When the player looks away from the box, the player will no longer see the text.

If it were an image, I could use it as a face. But this is text and it needs to change as the score variable changes.

How do I put text on the 3D layer and make it 'sit up straight' - for lack of a better term.

I need the text to update as the scores (variables) update, so it can't be a static image on a box.

I have a 3D box and it's in the game, now I just need to get the text to stick to it - upright.

    Thank you

I'm looking for the same. I want to put text on a 3D box that updates as the score updates - like a score board that hangs in from above in the center of a hockey rink, during Hockey games.

But I can't make the text 'sit up' for lack of a better word. The text just lays flat.

    Did you find a solution?

I figured out how to make the 3D objects move around, but I have 3D objects on a catwalk above my main gameboard. It's not a circle, but it is all connected.

How do I keep them moving around the catwalk without them going rogue and walking off the catwalk and keep walking in the air off into the sunset?

The 3D objects are guards so they need to stay on the catwalk.

Anyone know of a good example/demo?

    Thank you.

  • This is how I do it.

  • DiegoM,

I bet when you started with C3 you never thought that tabs would be an issue on anyone's list lol

Right click to close or locking them so they can't be closed unless unlocked would be great, but the tabs the way they are isn't going to stop me from using C3.

  • pandabear7413,

Yeah, there are 2 problems with my idea to click once on the Project bar.

The first is if someone is making a very large game with a lot of layouts it would take them forever to find what they want.

And 2, that would mean that objects in the project bar, like sprites, would also open with one click. And most of the time when you click on a sprite you don't want it to open, you just want to select it for some reason. That would be a huge issue.

    That's an easy one.

When I build my games, I like my tabs to go: home, homeSheet, menu, menuSheet, game, gameSheet and so on.

If I close, let's say the home tab by mistake, I reopen it and it opens on the bottom row of tabs. When I go to move it to the top row of tabs the homeSheet tab goes down to the second row of tabs. C3 randomly moves a tab to the bottom row. It would make sense if it moved the Last tab down to the bottom row, but it moves a random tab to the bottom row making it impossible to arrange the tabs in the correct order.

I'd like to lock the tabs in place so they can't be closed by mistake. Or Right Click to close would be great too!

However, when it comes to added features, I'd rather you make a great AR plugin, than worry about tabs.

...... when the player isn't jumping and isn't falling.

I swear I have worked on this for 2 Days.

This always happens. I struggle for days with a problem but once I post the question here the answer becomes obvious.

    Sorry.

I read "Using 3D in Construct" and I get that collision are the same in 3D as they are in 2D. So how do I handle jumping?

If the player sprite jumps over the object sprite, then the 2 sprites actually collide instead of one jumping over the other.

I don't want the collisions to take place until the center of the player sprite runs into the center of the object sprite, but as soon as the collision box of the player sprite comes in contact with the object sprite there is a collision. I don't see how the player sprite can get over the object sprite without a collision.

How do I jump over the object sprite?

  • Someone possibly as neurotic as me!!

I am constantly closing one tab somewhere at the beginning of the line of tabs and then having to close all the tabs to reorganize them again. (Drag and dropping tabs only works correctly if you only have 1 line of tabs.)

I would love to have a system where when the user clicks Once on the layout/sheet to the right, that layout/sheet opens. Just one click. I don't need the tabs at the top.

Of course that wouldn't work for games with a thousand layouts and hundreds of sheets, but for my projects, where I only have around 5 of each it would be amazing.

Of course, they're implementing much bigger features, so I'll just live with the tabs.

Yes, my internet connection is great, as I said I can open others, just not those.

I'm using Chrome and it's up to date - maybe it's another cache issue.

Thank you for confirming that they are working.

  • Anyone else having issues opening some of the templates/demos on C3's editor homepage?

    Thus far I can't open:

    Gravity Portal

    Foggy Outbreak

    Tank Movement

    I'm logged in.

    My internet connection is solid.

I can open other templates/demos on that page without any problem.

    Anyone know?

Is there a way to stop the odd box that appears around some sprites in the 3D games?

When the game is running and an object overlaps another object, part of the overlapped object either changes color or vanishes until the original object moves out of the way.

Changing the collision points doesn't seem to have an effect.

    Thoughts?
