  • I only want to use the camera as a background in level 3, maybe on others from time to time, but for now only on level 3.

I kind of figured it out, but only because I gerry-rigged it. I grabbed the handle on side and stretched it to make it huge. Now it works, but I'm thinking that gerry-rigging will cause issues in the long run. I'd rather do it right, you know.

  • Ok, I give up. I've been at this for hours. I need some detailed help.

I am using the camera to create a funky/cute background for 1 level.

It's a maze and a ball goes through the maze. Very simple. I setup the camera to activate. That works.

    The game size is 2560 x 4352, the Viewport size is 1280 x 2176.

I need the media (camera) to cover the Entire viewport area and/or move around the maze with the ball.

The ball has the 'scroll to' behavior.

I have the camera covering the entire game size, but I've tried it just over the viewport area.

It doesn't seem to matter what I set the preferred width & preferred height.

I set the background layer (which is the layer with the camera) to parallax 0%, 0% and 100%, 100% - neither worked.

Please what am I doing wrong?

I have tried several combination, but every combination I try just makes the camera a little box that doesn't cover the entire area.

    I'm so frustrated. Please help.

  • THANK YOU!

    Worked perfectly.

  • This is it. I am going to make this app. This is the year.

The app opens, you select the camera you want (front or back) that works fine. The thing is, when the camera opens I want that to trigger a new layout to open - which I did, but the next layout is black. The camera doesn't stay open on the next layout.

I figured out how to trigger the next layout, but I have no idea how to keep the camera open once the next layout opens.

Can anyone give me some instructions on what I need to do to keep the camera open on every layout?

    Thank you.

  • dazedangels, not that I'm aware of. It's always worked for me. Does your phone have rotation enabled in the settings?

    Thank you for your response.

I'm find it easier to explain issues visually, please bear with me.

The first image is a Mahjong game.

The game is set in landscape mode. It doesn’t matter if my phone is set to auto rotate, landscape or portrait, no matter how I turn my phone the game stays in landscape.

The second image is a game I'm making with C3. It was created in landscape mode. However the phone dictates how the game is displayed. If I have my phone locked in portrait mode the game doesn’t display correctly. If I put my phone in auto rotate mode, the game changes depending on how I hold the phone.

The Mahjong game doesn't require the player to put their phone in any mode - it always stays in landscape. That's what I need. The game to always stay in landscape, regardless of how the phone is set or the way the phone moves.

How do I get the game to stay in landscape mode regardless of the phone settings - like the mahjong game? Does that only happen after the game is exported to an Android game?

  • Lancifer, Boy I wish that worked.

Or at least it doesn't work when I attempt to preview with remote view using the QR code.

Does setting it to landscape only work once you export it as an Android file and then upload it to the phone?

  • Disregard.

I searched all of yesterday - found nothing.

After posting this question, I found this: construct.net/en/tutorials/drag-scroll-screen-using-1351

I swear, that's always the way it works.

  • I could be over thinking this, how do I get the screen to move around the background by the user simply putting their finger on the screen and moving their finger to the right/left/up/down.

There isn't a player object, so I don't think scroll to is going to work.

I have touch. The background shouldn't actually move, but the user should be able to explore the background by just moving their finger around the screen. Touch doesn't seem to have a behavior option.

Is there a behavior for that?

  • This happened right after the last Win10 update, I wonder if it changed some browser settings or plugins.

Also, I keep about 40 tabs open in Chrome. The odd thing is, it happens in all the other browsers where I don't have any tabs open. Maybe I have my other browsers linked some how.

    Thanks for the help guys.

  • Using: C3/Subscription/Win10/Chrome

I have several sprites (reload layout, home, level map) set to be initially invisible. However, if I accidentally click on an invisible sprite the function associated with that sprite happens (the layout reloads, the player goes to the home layout or the level map layout).

I thought that an invisible sprite was inactive until it was made visible.

(Talking about Invisible. NOT opacity set to 0%)

Am I way off, or have I done something wrong?

    Thanks.

  • Any idea why C3 keeps giving me this error whenever I launch C3: Unable to write to storage. The available quota may be full. Try freeing up storage space on your device.

It happens when I launch C3, so nothing is even open yet. It doesn't affect working in C3. I can work on my games and save them without any issue.

The laptop I typically use has 400+gb of available hard drive space. Another 400+gb of available external hard drive space (I have an external drive always attached - Velcroed to the top of the laptop) And I have at least 9gb of space on the G-drive where I save all the games.

Oddly it doesn't happen on my little Win10 Tablet/Laptop which only has 16bg of hard drive space which is nearly full.

I get this error when I'm using the browser version or the desktop version of C3. Though I typically use Chrome, it also happens in IE, FF, & Opera browsers.

    (C3/Subscription/Win10/Chrome)

  • YES!!! That's it!

    I Could Kiss You!

    Thank you so much.

  • I'll give it a try when I get back to my laptop.

    Thanks so much.

  • In July I purchased a demo game on codecanyon, it was created in C2, but was converted to C3.

It worked fine in July. I saved the file to Google and today it won't open. It keeps giving me the error it gave me when I first tried to open the C2 file (before it was converted)

And that's not the only one. Several games that were created in C2 and were working in C3 back in July aren't working now.

    The plugin is installed.

What can I do to open the files now?
