  • I had a similar issue awhile back, but I was getting stuck on walls. Now the disk is sliding down the walls just fine, but it's getting stuck on the corners of the walls.

    I don't get it. I tip the phone to the right, the disk goes to the right, but if it hits the corner of a wall it gets stuck and I have to tip the phone in a different direction and then right again to get it unstuck.

    I want it to work like it does in real life. If I had a disk on a board and tipped it to the right, it would slide into a corner of a wall, it may stop, but it would slide off to the side and keep sliding.

    I expect it to slow down (though I wish it wouldn't), maybe bounce off to the side, but it gets stuck.

    Like I said I can get it unstuck by tipping the phone in a different direction and then back to the right to get it moving again, but that's not going to work for the game.

    How do I get it to slide off the corner and keep going in the right direction and not get stuck?

    I made a video of the issue and uploaded a download.

    Ignore the player's drag and drop. I only added that so I could move the player to make the video on my laptop.

    It's a mobile app, it typically works with the Beta/Gamma.

  • I'm using 32x32 tilemap walls, I set the bounding boxes. I set the player sprite and enemy sprite as solid. I set the walls as solid, but the sprites go through at least part of the wall - and anything on Pathfind doesn't seem to care that there is a wall. Part of the time any sprite on pathfind goes straight through the wall other times it starts to go around a wall, but then goes through it.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • I'm making a game similar to Star Treks Velocity.

    To win you need 5 hits.

    When your ammo gets to 0 you’ve lost.

    If you hit a power up you get 3 more shots (ammo)

    Here’s the problem, if on the last shot you win, you get both messages: Win/Lost.

    A similar thing happens if on the last shot you hit the power up. It tells you that you’ve lost, but you now have 3 more shots.

    I know there has to be a simple answer, but I’m missing it.

    It's made for mobile. Hit only the Red Circles and the Blue power ups. Blue makes you lose a hit.

  • I figured it out - I can't believe it.

    Basically I meant, could I have both thumbs on the screen at the same time move the image in different directions - and apparently you can! YAY!

  • All the best tutorials are for C2, but they don't always translate into C3.

    I followed this tutorial.

    The problem is, if you follow the steps in the tutorial it will work on the PC, but not on mobile. I need it to work on mobile only.

    So I downloaded the demo - That will work on the Mobile, but it can't be programmed the same way using C3. The way C2 and C3 use functions must be different and I can't translate (yet)

    First, I tried to implement the idea into my project, but that didn't work, so I attempted to rebuild that demo line for line to learn/understand better how to make the touch controller, but C3 won't accept the word 'Function' in the code and I'm not exactly clear on what is supposed to go in that spot. (see image)

    The word Function is in about a half dozen different places and C3 won't let me put it in there.

    What am I doing wrong?

    One more quick question, if you don't mind.

    Is it possible to use 2 scrolls at the same time on a mobile screen? It seems to work, but then stops. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's taking a few seconds to confuse my phone enough to make it stop moving.

    I'm using a scroll on the right to move the player right and left and a scroll on the left to move the player up and down. (I'm complicated)

    If a large index is required, I'll upload them to my server.

    I build websites, I could make a demo display for each and a download link. I would be happy to index them all.

    You wouldn't happen to have a list of these wonderful demos, would you?

    I've seen several other things you've posted and they've helped me learn so much. Your demos are always better than the demos on the start page. You seem to have a demo for everything. Is there an index that I've missed?

  • I followed the YouTube video.

    It worked great for a horizontal slider, but I can't get it to work vertically.

    It is supposed to stay within the sliderSide (which is set at 50% opacity)

    It keeps going beyond the slider and not staying within the size of the slider.

    There is a slider on either side. This slider is sliderSide and moveSide.

    moveSide.Y+defaultValue*(sliderSide.Height/((maxValue-minValue)/step))

    Note, ignore the controller under the slider, that will go as soon as I get this slider working.
