  • You could use a dot sprite and spawn an instance of it at the arrow's location (be it origin or image point) every X frames/seconds/etc. Then give it a timer to destroy it, or destroy it at a certain event (depending, if you want it to disappear after some time, or when something else happens).

There might be a better way, though. This one is just off the top of my head.

Razer BlackWidow Chroma is my keyboard of choice. Great feedback with each press, highly customizeable, when it comes to colors and pretty solid built. Also, it has a USB port and 3.5mm jacks for headphones and a mic. Oh, and I can play Snake on it, while waiting for stuff to load.

It's pretty loud, but I guess, if you go for the Stealth variant, it will be a bit better.

  • I do have the motivation and I don't give up, once I decide that I will do something. I can't guarantee daily work (I do have a day job, a girl friend and personal commitments), but I will be able to work 10 or more hours a week on a game, yes.

I assure you that I don't take this lightly. I don't like letting people down and if I say I'll do something, I do it.

  • Hi Smileh!

I am in a very similar situation, working solid 40 hours a week (at least). I am also a beginner, when it comes to C2 (and HTML5 games). I have did a bit of coding with HTML, CSS and JS in the past, but strictly for websites. I also have some experience with RPG Maker VX, VX Ace and MV (the last being very limited).

I would be interested in working with you on some projects, if you want and if you could share a bit more info on how I can help.

  • Good read. The G2A and "fake YouTuber" articles are also worth reading, if you have games on Steam.

  • Well thanks a lot, I didn't expect any comment so that is a surprise. Working on some pickup animations, still haven't make up my mind yet.

Does this one look good? Or is it too much? Maybe just for a special item and not for simple coins?

I believe it's a bit much. You could save this one for special items and tone it down a bit for coins and general pickups. Otherwise, the player's eyes could get tired of all the flashing all the time.

  • The art looks pretty nice, well done. It really goes to show how tiny details can bring a level to life.

  • I tip my hat to you, sir.

I'm at work right now, so I can't try the games currently, but I will make sure to try Quick Trigger as soon as I can. It looks quite promising.

Keep working and turn that dollar into a full-time career! Right after making back those 125 bucks, of course!

PS: I think your mom should be considered a shareholder of Moon Light Games, by the way.

  • As someone, who never finished university, I can tell you that a degree is never a must. It does help, rather than hinder, but it's never mandatory (unless you want to be a doctor, lawyer, etc.).

I graduated high school less than 5 years ago and I am currently a team manager at a serious IT company, dealing with online advertisement. I am soon moving to a position in one of the top mobile tech sites as a journalist. And all this is done with just a high school degree and a lot of determination.

The best course of action here (in my opinion) is to just let your daughter decide what to do and support her the best you can.

Then again, I am not a parent, nor have I made any achievements in the gaming industry, so I could very well be wrong.

  • Instead of "On went offline", try using a reversed "Is online" condition.

    1. Add a new "Is online" condition (separate from the one you have right now).

    2. Right-click it.

    3. There should be an option to reverse it.

This will make the condition work as "Is NOT online".

  • X3M - Word! I've been using Notepad++ only for HTML, CSS and JS the past few years and I have never needed anything else. I use it both at home and at work. It is a bit basic, but I find that to be a good thing. I prefer to have less features, since that means less GUI clutter and I can actually focus on the code better.

notnsane - Notepad++ is also customizable, although I believe it's a bit more limited than Atom.

  • - I can't open the file, since I still have version 233. I guess the Steam release is yet to be updated.

    - This actually sounds like a solid idea.

However, I found an easy fix, using MagiCam. I set the camera to follow all "players" and to set the zoom so all followed objects are in view.

Thanks a lot for the help to both of you!

EDIT: While writing this, I got a second Fanatic badge.

  • Hey guys.

I'm making a top-down local multiplayer racing game, but I have a problem, which I can't address. I need to make sure to place the camera between all of them (at the midpoint) and I scale the layout enough, so all players come into view and none of them is off-screen.

I managed to do the first, but I can't figure out how to know, when all players are in view and how to make a bulletproof scaling formula for that. Can anyone help on that?

    Thanks!
