  • You could probably just set the time scale to 0 for everything except the fade in to selectively pause the game.

  • Has anyone explored this further?

  • Actually, I've experienced really bad performance with lots of off-screen objects in the game.

I've had to rework my spawning system to generate objects around the player to keep perf at an acceptable level.

We're talking about a 28fps difference to get the same visual density of objects on screen.

  • I'm looking into adding some adventure aspects to my game with nonlinear dialogue.

Anyone have experience connecting from something like chat mapper into C2?

  • Have you setup some easy way to verify the timing is off (maybe visual cue in your UI)?

I've found that the audio trigger needs to be one of the first actions called in an event to get really tight timing.

In one of my tests, I had about 10 actions stacked up and got slightly delayed audio. Simply moving the play sound action to the top of stack made it work.

  • Probably not a perfect example, but someone might find something useful in it...

  • LittleStain

Good point. I've updated the example, with something more generally useful to reference.

  • Here's the simplest way I could think of:

  • Thanks for the examples of using unlerp guys! It's SUPER useful stuff.

  • I signed up, but I probably will catch the recordings :(

Thanks again for doing this guys!

  • Started working with this design tool that's available on Steam. It seems super useful for setting up your game data and structuring how things connect and flow together.

Anyone have experience using this and/or integrating tools with similar XML/Excel format outputs with C2?

  • Yann... just wanted to chime in. I'm about 1hr into the Mimicking Arrays video and it's awesome.

I'm learning a lot. Thank you for putting these together!

  • Apparently there's a graphics tablet out there with the same tech as the monoprice but even less expensive:

  • I'm also having this problem. Should I try to reinstall through steam?

  • I've used Wacom tablets for years, and they are good, but expensive and haven't evolved much over the years.

An artist (Ray Frenden) has reviewed a range of graphics tablets available, and has a couple of newer, MUCH less expensive options that are competitive with Wacom.

I'd say the best starter tablet he's reviewed seem to be the $50 Monoprice 10"x6.25" or the $90 Monoprice 12"x9"

I haven't used these yet. I can't personally vouch for them, but Ray is very hardcore about this stuff... so I trust his opinion.

This biggest issue with these over the wacom tablets is that the Monoprice pens need batteries... but you save so much $, it may be a worthwhile hassle.
