  • Ashley There are a few object expressions you can retrieve when using "Compare two values", but not through the object itself.

Sometimes you have neither, like scale (e.g. Sprite, SpriteFont)

BTW I fixed it for the other person and removed most of the code, including those Else blocks. The array is overkill really. So was I doing someone's homework? Also I would make the 'TopBlock, etc.' smaller and remove the need for the inverted 'is overlapping' checks.

Thanks!! I did the art. My brother's helping with me level designs and motivation, other than that, it's all me.

Yeah, we just changed hosts so everything's down temporarily till we get all that figured out. Should be back up in a day or two, along with a dedicated site for the project!

Did you see the demo version I just put up yesterday? (Art/Animations aren't in there yet, but gameplay is!)

I realize now the levels aren't great for a demo, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

  • Hi all. I get warnings in the Android dev console that my app is not designed for tablets. How is it determining this and how can I fix it? My app is portrait only, and it does 'support' tablet aspect ratios by not showing letterbox bars on those ratios.

  • you can't host in a standard dropbox account any more, if that's what you're trying to do

  • Cool, that fixed it right up. Obviously I was just confused about how sub-events work.

Not really related to subevents, just a very common beginner's error. Each event (or subevent) runs from top to bottom, so this kind of thing (in pseudocode)

    (assuming A = 1)

    if A = 1, set A = 2

    if A = 2, set A = 3

    if A = 3, set A = 1

probably doesn't look right to you (A will always be 1) but it's what you're doing in your code.

  • This is still an active question. It's one way of doing it.

  • Use an 'Else' between your System: PlayerPos = "XYZ" events

  • Yes, we wanted to make it more secure.

    > Since the update to 1621, we have to log in to download our APK's??

    >

Sometimes I get an error when trying to download the APK from the email sent by the XDK.

It just shows me an XML dump similar to

    <Error>

    <Code>AccessDenied</Code>

    <Message>Access Denied</Message>

    etc.

Obviously related to this new security but it appears for no obvious reason (e.g. I didn't fail the login--I wasn't even asked.) Assume login details are cached are first successful login.

  • I'm not sure how they don't address your needs. You want to support 2 aspect ratios, 3:2 and 16:9. The height or width don't matter as such, it's just the aspect ratio.

What I've done on 2 projects is:

set Scale outer on my project

set Window size to the 16:9 aspect ratio

make the layouts' width to the 'wider' aspect ratio (e.g. 3:2)

make sure the important stuff is in the 'safe zone' of 16:9

I did use Anchor on one of those projects to keep buttons on a button bar in position.

So anyway what happens when you try to use Anchor, even in a test project? Can you provide a capx?

note: I have no iPhone app experience, but as far as I can see the above holds true.
