• It's good to learn how to do it from first principles, but you could also use the Tween or LiteTween plugin.

  • Thanks, will let you know how I go.

  • codah might be something of the iPAD also. Restart your iPAd and try again. I mean turn the power off and on. you mean .ipa file btw right?? My files are extensions are not .ipk files. And also did you register your iPAd to appl developer?? If not you should otherwise it might not work.

Also the way I do is after I download the file with .ipa extension.I go to its folder then right click the file and say open with and then select itunes.

When your device is connected to the computer just drag and drop the .ipa file to your iPads any screens that appear as simulator on the right hand side. Then say Apply or Sync.

    Good Luck

Yea sorry was thinking of Android .apk Yes I registered the device, but I'll check I did it right. (You reminded me now, I also tried to install on a non-registered iPad and got the same result). I'm hoping I didn't screw up by creating 2 certificates somehow. Maybe if I start over from scratch again and follow your tips. Thanks again for the instruction doc and help.

  • codah Hi,

    No problem with Spamming

I think that's a bug with XDK I had the same problem with it. It just got stuck. So I restarted it and it worked. By the way I don't think you need a Mac to create the certificates you can do it all in PC. Just upload the file to itunes and create your certificate there. Also make sure you select the same certificate when you are creating your Adhoc and distribution prov. files. Otherwise it will give build error.

Don't forget to select Yes for Advertising Identifiers when submitting to apple.

    Good Luck

Thanks. BTW I finally got my .ipk and installed it on an iPad but it just says "installing" forever. Guess I have more work to do!

  • This will avoid the entered door, slight mod to yours hope you don't mind

  • codah http://www.fileformat.info/info/charset/UTF-8/list.htm

Text has no problem with that, it would display any characters with UTF-8 encoding. Funny, chinese characters can't fit in sprite font map due to limit which it would require more than thousands of characters.

Yeah that's why I went for it. Easy way out really, maybe the only solution.

  • codah Now the tutorial is in the Tutorials Section;)

Hey, continuing to spam your thread...

I've got my Mac And I'm going through your doc. I seem to have hit a noob error with the certificate..

    [attachment=0:3flzsdwi]ios_cert.png[/attachment:3flzsdwi]

I seemingly went through the process here..

[quote:3flzsdwi]Follow the steps below to obtain and upload your certificate to the Intel’s Build System.

    http://www.html5dev-software.intel.com/ ... inCert.pdf

I think the problem is that I requeted a CSR from the XDK and then also from the Apple dev site. Or something.

    Any clues?

edit: so I transferred the .csr file from the XDK (clicked the download button in step 1a) to my Mac and created a certificate based on that. Then I transferred the certificate file *.cer back to the XDK and uploaded it in step 1b, now it's just saying "Please wait while we upload your file..." and just sits there.

edit 2: I just ignored it and reloaded the XDK and got further.. now have an ipk and will see how it goes

  • I'm interested in this. I have to put Arabic and Chinese into my app, and I was going to use a Text object not Spritefont (I don't have performance related issues so Text should be ok for me).

  • Welcome! Grab yourself a C3 panic thread and settle in for the fun.

    .

Yeah he's crazy buying now C3 is about to release! /joke

Read the blog on The future of construct 2 (click Blog top of screen), it's clear there will be a good upgrade price for existing users, not free.

  • Also you can right-click your layout and choose Edit event sheet.

  • Lols, well of course I meant R196.

And thanks, my night was getting a bit more Twilight Zone than I usually like No idea why I haven't seen that before though, I usually have effects turned on (I think, guess I could have popped it on by accident somehow). Is it a 196 thing?

No it's been around since forever. Depends on which effects you're using. I get it with 'Set color' (which is pretty rubbish and buggy itself but yeah)

  • Try turn off Preview Effects in the editor. PS You're using a way too old version

  • > You can pick by nth instance (a System expression), a.k.a IID, and use random( sprite.count) to pick.

    >

Thank you I will give this a shot, I always assumed Sprite.Count would just use the maximum amount of that sprite I.e the number of that sprite it counts as created. Will let you know how it works out, thank you very much for your reply.

It is the number of currently created instances of an object, so if you had more than 6 instances (some off-screen), but only wanted to pick from the ones on-screen, then you would first pick by the 'onscreen' expression, then by perhaps by an expression where 'Sprite.IID = random(Sprite.PickedCount)'.
