  • I fixed it by choosing "Pick Furthest to Player.X & Player.Y"

    Taken care of.

  • Any ideas on what the condition could possibly be?

The player shoots fireballs by pressing a button, so they're all the same, like I said. ^-^

  • I have a fireball set to be destroyed upon colliding with the Tilemap.

Unfortunately, if there's more than one fireball on the screen, it'll destroy every single one of them.

How do I fix this? I can't pick by UID because they're spawned when the player presses a button, so that's impossible as far as I know.

  • Hello! I'm wondering how to make a falling net.

This specific net is connected to the roof with two rope, one on the left, one on the right.

If you were to destroy the rope on the left, the left side would fall and then swing for a little while.

Anyone know how to make that? I'd love an explanation!

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello! I'd like to make a burning rope.

If a fireball hit a certain part of the rope, I'd like the rope to burn to each end from the point the fireball hit.

I could simply make an animation for this, but you'd never know where the fireball would hit, making it extremely difficult.

Anyone know how to achieve this?

Basically, two fire sprites would appear where the fireball hit, and then move towards each end of the rope, making the part of the rope it went over disappear.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello! I'm wondering how to create a message box where each letter appears every .5 seconds from left to right.

Each letter appearing every second or so. Is there a way to do this? I hope I'm explaining correctly!

  • Hello! I'm not exactly sure if this would be better as a Behavior or an Effect, but I'd like to know if anyone knows of a plugin that achieves that specific look.

I'd like the pixels on the sprite to jitter a bit, to give off the impression that the camera hardware isn't completed. Hard to explain. Hopefully someone out there knows what I'm looking for!

It doesn't need to change the color in any way, I just want it to jitter a little. Thanks!

  • Hello!

I'm making currents in an underwater level of my platformer, and it's going perfect!

Each current makes you travel faster without having to press a button by using "Vectors"

For example, a current that makes the character go upward would set the player's vector to Y - 150 while they're touching the current.

It works perfectly, the only problem is that now I want to make FAST currents. Super duper fast.

I can't seem to set the vector any higher than 150... I'd set it to 250, but it'd be the same speed as 150 for some reason.

But... This only works for - X, X and Y vectors... The -Y vector can go well above 150. Anyone know the issue here? I'd love your input!

  • I do have custom controls, however they're all on the same event sheet. I'd have to create another event sheet and only put the controls I need for this, and then include the event sheet in the current one used for that level.

I was just wondering if there was a quicker solution ^-^ I shall check out that link now, thanks

EDIT: Oh! Now I know what you mean. All solved!

  • I'm making a platformer, but I have a level where the player is constantly running.

The whole level, the player is moving right automatically. However, when the user presses the Left Key, the player stops.

Is there a way to disable the left key? ONLY the left key? I need the other keys, stop Ignore input isn't an option.

  • I recently bought a pack of 8 Bit Sounds. It has a lot of sound effects you can use as "Random".

Let's use walking as an example.

Every time the player moves left, a footstep sound effect will play when their foot touches the ground. Naturally, it would be annoying to have the same sound play over and over, hence the random sounds in the pack.

I would love it if someone would explain to me how to make use of these!

TL;DR, I want a stepping sound effect to play every time the player's foot touches the ground while walking. I have 4 variations of the footstep sound, so I'd like to make use of them by making each stepping sound vary.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Crash!

  • I have a sprite. It has an Instance Variable.

This Instance Variable is "hit", and it is on a box.

It tells the game how many hits it takes to break the box. It's set to 3.

I placed all the boxes down, and now I've realized hitting the box 3 times is too much.

Now I have to go through and apply "2" to "hit" on every single box I've placed. Is there a way to apply the updated Variable on every single box with the press of a button? Thanks a lot in advance
