  • hi

i have bought this plugin https://www.scirra.com/store/construct2-plugins/mobile-browser-4462

it allowed me to open website in the app

now when it open the iframe open above all the objects so only the iframe shown

i contacted the maker and he said to make the plugin opens in the bottom of layer (z order) you must edit the c2runtime.js

i want to create objects like logo and sprites above the iframe

    .

    thanks

Hello. I'm not here to take the job, I'm just advising.

Why not use these plugin instead:

    Construct 2: https://www.construct.net/en/forum/extending-construct-2/addons-29/plugin-html-iframe-99973

    Construct 3: https://www.construct.net/en/make-games/addons/190/html-element-added-global-store

You will still need basic HTML5, JS and CSS knowledge though. But it makes it easier, if you only want to do basic things.

Although, it's not that easy or at least not professional if you want to make a Store App as you've said. What you've shown is more complicated to make on Construct 2 than using an actual web app development software. You're better off not using a game engine for that.

Also, I think you misunderstood, what the developer meant. I think you got that wrong.

What he means is to develop a plugin that includes or overrides an HTML5 object to make sprite-like HTML5 objects above the c2runtime canvas. Not to edit the actual c2runtime itself. Just extend it.

And no, you can't make Sprites above the IFrame or Mobile Browser.

I hope that shed some light on the subject.

    Cheers!

    Hi there,

I'm new to construct. I can say that construct is an amazing and powerful tool. However, I have a programming background and I would like to know is there a way to code in editor without using the built-in event sheet system. Thanks in advance.

    There are 2 common ways.

    1. JavaScript Plugin :: https://www.construct.net/en/make-games/addons/1/javascript
    2. JavaScript SDK :: https://www.construct.net/en/make-games/manuals/addon-sdk
  • I have some experience with other languages and frameworks and want to dive in js full stack web development.

Can someone advice me which book i should read? I don't need to much explanation since i already have some few years of programming experience. It's just that i never did JS.

I have programming knowledge from other fields but I dived into JavaScript last in nearly a year ago. Just so I can extend Construct for my projects. I didn't read a physical book, only eBooks or references.

    I started with:

    tutorialspoint.com Html5+CSS+JS

    Then:

    w3schools.com Html5+CSS+JS

    Then:

    youtube.com/watch

    Then:

    Youtube : ES6

    Then : Mozilla JS references.

Lastly : Use the language, you already know the language at this point.

I learned JS first because it was easier to understand in a programming perspective. Because, those HTML5 tags and CSS are just crazy to learn without actually using it for your projects.

In just a week, I learned to use Web Development for Construct 3 extensions. Then, I stopped reading books about it. I just lookup actual HTML5 + JS references.

I can't recommend you books but I can recommend you some startups, because after you take this route, you won't even need a book. You'll just keep looking at the Mozilla References for your projects.

I hope that helped in a way.

  • hi , can you sell Mobile Master Collection alone ?

    Hello!

No, unfortunately. Sorry, but that's the only way I can sell cheaply.

    Cheers!

  • Even if Construct 3 did have a 3D environment. It still would most likely be that Unity 3D would still have the better 3D environment, because the Unity Team are experts on 3D as the Construct Team are experts on regards to HTML5 2D.

If you want more 2.5D support, then Construct 3 might get that. But that maybe is still in the long future and it would also be pretty limited. It may not be the 3D environment you expect, it may just be for handling support with Top-View perspectives.

  • Hi!

Thanks for porting Rexrainbows plugins to C3. However I only use free plugins (as far as possible) for my templates.

Also thank you for purchasing and testing my template with Construct 3.

I recommend you to make separate bundles instead of one big bundle. Just my personal opinion.

For instance, what would be the price for the "rexrainbow firebase package"?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Hello, I completely understand and you're welcome. I'm just considering people's options to how they can still use Firebase even in Construct 3.

    Regarding your recommendation.

I don't think separate bundles will work. The Construct Master Collection is an ever innovating collection, which means, as time passes, the collection will keep getting bigger and upgraded, because as I've explained there, I usually make private addons. But from now on, I plan to release all the addons I make from that moment on, that I think will benefit the Construct Community, but I will have to take into account the generalized state of the addons plus their documentations and support.

Each plugin inside the bundle isn't a lightweight plugin, they are full-packed, each plugin there has full-packed features on what they have been advertised. Usually each plugin would be my typical $20.00 to $30.00 plugin in my normal Scirra Store listing. I also take into account the C2 support, C2.5runtime support and C3runtime support.

The Firebase plugins are different, they are only half the price of my typical addons, because I only did half the work.

But still considering the huge API and different bundle collections included in the Construct Master Collection like the PlayFab Master Collection, Mobile Master Collection, Game Master Collection, Firebase Master Collection and the Web Master Collection.

I believe it really is a fair price. Each plugin which normally cost $20.00 to $30.00, now only costs around $1.50 to $2.50 each, I think this is already a huge and cheap deal. And also, as time passes you get more plugins, that becomes about $0.50 per plugin as time passes.

The only way that I can make them cheaper is to include the entire package to the bundle.

    I hope that explains it.

    Cheers!

  • Hello. I ported the Firebase plugins to Construct 3 and I bought this Firebase Leaderboards template and tested this, and it works fine.

  • My tutorial for the new Advanced Random plugin is now live:

    https://www.construct.net/en/tutorials/getting-started-with-the-advanced-random-plugin-30

I'm looking forward to seeing some cool creations!

This is amazing Nepeo. This is great for procedural generation.

I never thought Construct would support this. First game I guess that users would try is minecraft map generation.

  • It is usually the events, layout, objects, memory usage or what's happening in the project, which is the culprit.

But anyway, exporters don't gain you performance. It's always the runtime. So, use the C3Runtime and improve your game design.

    Here are some optimization tips:

    construct.net/en/make-games/manuals/construct-3/tips-and-guides/performance-tips

About the exporter, it really is just mainly about the convenience and customizations you want to implement.

It wouldn't improve performance unless you use a custom webview, which is what Cocoon.IO does but has its own drawbacks and limitations. I don't recommend this, especially when Cocoon.IO is declining and performance is becoming worse instead of becoming better because of lack of updates while the regular webview and packaging improves.

I recommend, if you are not using the Construct 3 Build Service. You can use Phonegap. Which is convenient to use with its tools.

    Link: build.phonegap.com

And no, it doesn't improve performance, that is up to the device webview, runtime and project design. Though, good, lightweight, updated packaging does improves a bit performance and responsiveness which is noticable.

And Phonegap is always up to date with this. And possibly the Construct 3 Build Service too.

If you learn or become an advanced user, you can use the Cordova CLI. But again, it doesn't improve performance. It works the same as Phonegap, it's just that you have more control.

The slight performance and responsiveness increase is up to the cordova packaging version but mostly on the project design and runtime.

I hope that shed some light on the subject.

    Cheers!
