  • Uh... I extracted the thing multiple times with no effect, the sine behaviour doesn't even list "opactiy", and naturally, in runtime, no effect.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Very nice! Though... Why is Mega Man there?

  • Well, instant crash on runtime, basically. I couldn't figure out why.

  • Uh... The new version pretty much broke everything. I managed to revert back to the old version of the plugin just to get things to actually work.

  • Holy hell, your stuff's sweet! Perhaps I can ask you to compose maybe one or two pieces for Aria if I ever need 'em. Who knows?

  • The doubling up thing is a geniune bug, nothing that kills the playability though, but I can't figure it out myself. The controls... That's strange. It should be perfectly fine, unless you're playing it wrong.

[quote:md8jywoh]Whoah... you got your mother to help you make your game?

    You have one cool mom.

Well, she can do some art, though she's terrible at drawing characters, lol.

  • SAGE BOOTH OPEN!

That's right, Sage is in town, and I have a booth. And a new demo!

  • I noticed that issue too - by the way, while you're at it, can you check for that bug with the left stick that seems to confuse up or down for left and right? I think the stick click is a bit screwed too.

  • I am heavily unsure if this is a bug or otherwise, but... When I'm using the 360 Controller plugin in Construct, when using the left stick, holding up and down seems to make Construct think that I'm holding left or right as well. There are other examples of strange control, and I found it affects Dave's Spaceship cap, and it also features in platform movement. I've reinstalled my driver software, so it's not that either.

  • Holy hell, that's awesome. If anyone can do Sonic-style jumping and acceleration as well, we can more or less make Sonic fan games out the wazoo! Wait, would this thing be compatible with jumping and stuff?

Also, with these custom movement additions, maybe you can also make the movement more accurate as well, considering that shark fin bug?

  • i dont know how to write plugins that create or manipulate graphics in any way that isnt built into construct. however, one of these days i was considering making an easy fontsprite splitter app with construct. and i coulf include that feature

That would be pretty awesome. Trying to get each frame right is a pain, really, when one could just have it all in a single file that can be split automatically.

  • still no new stable release? sadzorzz

The stability of this version will only depend on whether people are getting major bugs, if we get the all-clear after a whole lot of people have tested it, it's stable.

Anyway... Holy hell, that's awesome! The panel object is also totally awesome, too.

  • Hmm... Can I make a suggestion?

I've just come across a site with bitmapped fonts, and these fonts are all in one image, except separated by singular pixels of a particular colour in ASCII order, specifically for the awesome Bitmap Font Writer. Perhaps this object could also support something like this? Just a suggestion, so people who have those types of bitmap font images won't have to tediously split 'em and then assign every specific frame to a certain letter.

  • Well, perhaps when you guys start working on 2.0, perhaps OGRE could be intergrated into the rendering engine? If anything, it would work for future 3D rendering, and perhaps the effects that come with it could come in handy, if nothing else... Construct + OGRE would be awesome.

Still, I can imagine that the logical steps Construct could take eventually are 3D graphics with 2D gameplay, then completely 3D gameplay. The latter would take a lot longer than the former, I gather, and probably wouldn't even be touched until Construct reaches the point where there's no other direction to go in development, methinks.

  • 3D graphics with 2D gameplay would definitely be the next logical step. I assume this would be for 2.0 and beyond, though.
