  • Set a deadline - the game is either complete by then or left an unfinished hulk.

You will start to feel you need to compromise to beat the deadline. This is a good feeling, go with it.

  • Thanks!

  • I've uploaded a new version of my game to fix the score submission, but I can tell it's not running the new version.

Does it actually update immediately but my cache is holding onto the old version of the game? I'm using chrome. Just tried firefox to load my game and that still came up with the old version.

I've uploaded new versions of prior games before and it's taken a few hours for the new version to start being served by the arcade. I'd just like more of an idea of the time it takes, thanks

  • Not sure if the score submission system is working. Has anyone gone past the first screen - it should trigger a score submission at that point.

Edit: Yep, completely forgot to include the save events sheet!

  • Could you say the colours of each thing - what colour is an ATP?

Are they supposed to be part of the same body? Are the red ones invaders? I mean, I'm not sure how spikey things wearing down other cells would help? Who are they attacking?

It was fascinating but I was pretty clueless as to the dynamics of what was going on

  • I don't really understand what is going on, but am strangely fascinated!

A simple journey and adventure game that is partially an idle game. I like the adventurer traveling across the landscape, fighting Khloro monsters and collecting chests of gold dust or gold ore, gaining Lettuce Leaves to replenish energy over the journey. It has a promotion of growing food, which I advocate for. And it has lore about the mythical Duyoa, as you travel along!

Built over about three weeks (though I use the chassis of previous games I've made to build the new one, so that saves some development time)

  • What are you trying to get with having it all on one level?

  • Try an opt in advert view that stays for 30 seconds and gives a bonus that just keeps increasing with time and plays - ie, becomes increasingly attractive to use.

  • Yeah, blackhornet is right, event 5 just keeps running and adding to the level every tick, UNTIL one of those things is touched.

Try making it make win =2, then use a new statement to check if win=2, then if it does, do the touch stuff after that.

  • In terms of keeping the information in between plays, you want to look into the local storage object and storing information with that.

  • Smooth play and cycle between fail results. I thought it was going to be an endless runner type - not my personal preference to time avoidance of an enemy by bouncing off a wall then bouncing off another one to turn around again. But maybe that's just me.

    Quite slick overall, well done

  • Yeah, looking at the screen shots but can't really figure out what's going on

  • Looks cute!

This is a very small game and technically a finished one, but its so small that I wasn't sure it qualified for the completed creations forum. I am interested in feedback on potential new features I could use for a follow up, so that suits this forum.

[quote:12wid92r]A tiny experimental game. The Khloro are spreading, threatening to destroy livelyhoods - will you slay them and loot gold motes from them?

This wasn't part of a game jam, but like some jams have a 24 hour limit, I built this with the goal of doing so in a short time (on a pre existing frame I'd coded) so as to quickly build something. I have a few projects that are basically finished but need polish and I haven't polished them - I wanted to get out of that cycle of not actually finishing something, even if I finished it quick! And heck, if the central theme doesn't get some engagement, why elaborate on it for dozens of hours - so this is an experiment in seeing if the central theme sticks at all.
