  • Welp, it's been forever since I've posted an update. I did, indeed, take some time off of the project to make life work. But it is still very much under way, and here are a few screenshots showing the latest build.

All are originally 1280x720. I've also fixed a number of performance things so it's running pretty close to 60 fps at all times on my [old] desktop.

  • Thanks for moving this Kyatric. Here are a couple other things you guys might enjoy. Firstly, I did a commercial advertising the University of South Carolina that aired during athletic events this last football season (So ESPN, CBS, etc.) which you can check out

    .

I also had a remix posted to OverClocked Remix this last fall using Zelda: Majora's Mask which you can check out here. Have a listen!

  • Hello, I'm sure a few of you are at least aware of Blight. Yes, I suck at updating the thread, but I am indeed working on it still :-P

Anyways, music is actually my primary focus/trade, and I thought here may be as good a place as any to share my

    What I offer

I've loved gaming since I could hold a controller and soon thereafter found a passion for music. The combination of them is my ideal and what drives my pursuits, along with the goal of impacting the listener. I make exceptional music while being very personable and professional. I excel at a variety of genres and styles, with orchestral being a particularly fond setting. I'm classically trained, have played instruments for over a decade, composed for just under a decade, have a degree in music composition, and am no stranger to electronic or live sources of sound. I'm looking to create custom soundtracks for your game while being great about communication back-and-forth to make sure it gets done right.

    Full tracks

    And more full tracks!

    Pricing

I offer either exclusive or non-exclusive custom content. Either way, the music would be made per-spec to your project, but a non-exclusive agreement would allow the music to be used elsewhere by me and only for a single project of yours. Exclusive content is exclusive to you as a developer/studio and would be unavailable for any other clients. You would also be able to use it in multiple projects. This can be hammered out in greater detail on a project-by-project basis.

All payment would be after completion of track (the fair way to do it). I would discount the prices further for larger quantities of music required. That way, larger soundtracks wouldn't be as prohibitive.

    Contact

I can be contacted at <img src="http://www.adamprack.com/email.png" border="0">, via message on the Scirra forums, or by message on youtube.

    adamprack.com or youtube.com/adamprack for more!

I look forward to hearing from you about your project!

I'm available for any needs you may have for original music. Pricing can be very flexible for the type of project at hand, so let me know what ideas you have in mind.

  • I've always used 'eventing' for this and other engines.

  • It's nice and all, but you omitted layers with different scroll rates. That's the biggest problem people run into as far as I can tell. Yes, black bars and such are nice, but this makes reliable parallax use nearly impossible at different resolutions because zooming isn't screen-relative but layout-relative. So it's nice, but it would be wonderful to have a work-around for THAT instead.

  • It would be cool to have this on C2 as well, but since I'm only using CC currently, I'll be selfish and say keep this one going! I think the zooming and moving simultaneously thing would be an awesome feature to work on. As it stands, any zooming while moving or while the target isn't in the center leads to the camera jerking at the end of it. Maybe even setting a user-selected point as the center/target of the zoom?

  • Hey, that's lookin' pretty neat! Either the combat is a bit clunky or I blow at it, but it's definitely got a good start. This looks like it could shape up nicely with some (more) love and care. Great work so far!

  • I believe you mean something like:

    Player.X Equal or Greater to 800 --

-system: creat object objectB at (objectA.X, objectB.Y)

    -objectB destroy/set invisible/whatever

Is something like that what you mean? (yes, the pseudocode isn't quite accurate, but those abilities are all there). Like when triggered, a floating square gets replaced with a floating circle, right?

  • It's a neat start, though the sword-swining doesn't work as well as one might hope. I hope to see a later version some time.

  • Make a global variable (you've got that down) with an initial value of 3 or 5 or however many you want. You can then reference this number from any layout.

    So,

If Player collides with 'kill' --- Subtract 1 from global variable "Lives"

--- Lifetext: Set text to 'lives'

Use the single quotes so it knows you're referencing a global variable. Let me know if that makes sense! Then you can do things like

Is global variable 'lives' Less or equal 0 --- System: Go to layout 'usersucksatthisgame' with transition "None"

    or whatever you'd like!

Let me know if that made sense.

  • Oh, I guess I'll post a few.

  • It looks neat, thought doesn't seem to do anything but have stuff spin slowly. The mouse cursor is laggy/jumpy as heck, though. I'm running 7900GS, 4GB Ram, Pentium D 3.2 Ghz. Nothing spectacular (quite outdated), but it runs a lot of things fine. Oh yeah, Firefox 6, too.

  • CC still gets my vote and is still what I'm using. I'll be completing Blight with CC-- .exe and the greater features give me no reason to move to C2.

  • I like how it's going! I went through your site and went through some of the comic. The screenshots you have make more sense after seeing all that. You seem to be getting pretty well into this. I hope to see more soon! Keep it up.

  • I like the green because I'm used to seeing it. Seriously, it makes the place seem more consistent and stable.
