  • Hey there! I've become moderately familiar with the Multiplayer plugin in Construct 3, and have developed many prototypes for my game, but upon creation of the full game have run into a few problems.

I created a "Ready-Up" screen that then jumps to another layout once all players are ready. The layout jumped to does not initialize the Multiplayer as desired, so if this sounds like something you would like to checkout, send me a message, or message me on any of my Social Media.

I've also had a few problems creating the "Ready-Up" Screen itself, so would love assistance with that.

Willing to pay for good work! I've invested a lot into this game already so hopefully that will serve has some support to know you won't be scammed! I'll be paying using Paypal.

  • Biim Games Hey man, sorry about the super late reply. Anywho- I'm making a TCG on the side that's related to the actual videogame. Sorry if that was confusing!

My actual game being playtested is here! youtube.com/watch

It's 4 players each at once performing little movements/mazes with their mouses in order to perform moves like an RPG. Say you wanted to heal an ally for example: you complete the plus-sign maze, and then click on an ally! It's something like that. It's extremely unique and I'm hoping to gain traction because of that niche it is!

  • Biim Games Oh really? That goes to show how much I know about construct haha. I've been working at this for about a year and a half and still consider myself a beginner. This game in general for anyone curious is a RPG-version of the popular game Osu. This is the most easy explanation of how the game functions.

  • Hey there! I've developed about 5% of my overall game, but with more than enough to show the entirety of the game and it's intended code. If you are very familiar with Multiplayer, please do consider joining, this project has a lot of potential, and I'm far better at marketing than I am at coding. We'll hopefully be working together on the code, and I'll catch you up to speed with how it works.

  • The easiest recommendation would be to have 2 files. One file of the full song, and another of the song, but edited up to the 1:25 mark.

Have the first song play, and then once the song is finished (or you forcefully finish/stop it), play the edited audio track. You could also call for this edited audio to play on loop if you wanted it to continuously loop back to 1:25.

  • Hey there! Made a playtest version of my intentional game I'm excited to show off here: gyazo.com/51524053dc4eb0172b357f7a107e5c1e

The overall concept is that, each player in the game is a party, all fighting the boss in the center, and completes these little mazes in order to cast spells and deal damage/heal/all that jazz. With this playtest in mind, I've finally approached Multiplayer and all of that within construct and have gotten completely stuck, and documentation is nice...but I don't really understand it, even when playing around with it.

So my biggest problem: I have fully created the login menu, and this functions exactly as the pong-example one does, meaning it also works! Once fully logged in though, I cannot get "Connected as host" or "Peer" to appear as well as either players able to interact with one another through the "remote preview" button. (I followed the pong example EXACTLY).

Any tips/tricks? Also if any kind souls out there are interested in sharing their knowledge and walking me through it on discord; Please do add me: BlueScarf James#0416.

I'm quick to pick things up, but need more examples than the documentation unfortunately.

  • Hey there everyone, I recently did a reinstall of windows onto my PC, which uninstalls programs but is SUPPOSED to keep the majority of my files.

After having done so, I now previewed my game to see giant black bars alongside each side of the screen, with the screen much farther away from the game than pre-reinstall.

    Example: gyazo.com/3979ff9765b4d872fa7998d9091c214e

    Tried:

    -Changing my computer resolution

-Changing each property under the "project properties" tab, more specifically each fullscreen mode and viewport size. The best fullscreen mode was scalar-in, but it cut off portions of the layout which isn't great :(

  • Thank you very very much, I’m grateful there are people like you on the forums willing to help us noobies free of charge.

I see exactly what you mean now, and will try to get as far away as I can from statemachine code! Thank you very much for the example code of both styles. I will also appreciate the performance boost as that will be helpful overall I’m sure. Appreciate the help again!

  • Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback! I’ll do some research into timers to replace the waiting and seconds!

In terms of replacing the “every tick”, would I simply just make the requirements triggered by a value being set/changed? I’m super new to all this, so this was the most “english” way to make the game so far to me haha

  • Hey there! I've been trying to essentially give this "Boss" a wind-up attack in which it chooses to perform this attack every 20 seconds, and while performing this wind-up it would first toggle on a "charging" boolean(which is a condition of the normal attack, it being FALSE that is), and then it will wait 5 seconds before finally choosing a party member to attack, then toggling the "charging" boolean off again.

The problem I've been running into, is that every blue moon of running the game, the boss will completely stop performing ANY actions after starting it's wind-up move. It won't land the attack, nor will it continue to do anything else.

^Here is a screenshot link to the exact codechunk that is the heart of the wind-up attack.

I would be so so forever grateful if anyone is able to help me understand and fix this issue! Thanks so so much!
